I noticed Phoenix has 2 terminals. Which one is the city operation out of ? What is the current top hourly rate for a city driver there ? Thx in advance !

Both facilities have city and road drivers. The yards are 5 miles apart...I think. Might be 7. Phoenix is 125 doors. North phoenix is 85 or so doors.

Thanks for the reply silent trucker. That is interesting that both have city operations. I guess they split up the territory. Any idea about the hourly top rate ?

Silent Trucker, are you still able to find your way in the dark without my guiding light?

No. I'm wandering in the darkness, lost to the world. When are you coming back to work?

This is the best job I never had. All I have to do to get a check from Uncle Freddy every month is stay above ground.

My friend, I hope you stay above ground for many years to come. I'm about to turn 55...and am seriously considering retirement....on the cusp thanks to my 401 (k).

I'll be 73 this year. I was 67 when I retired, so medicare kicked in automatically for me. I used to see the doctor once every two years for me DMV physical. Now I see him once a month to get my prescriptions. The cost for health care is expensive when you have to pay for it yourself. I'm thankful for my pension and 401K. That makes up a big part of my retirement package. Something to think about before you pull the pin. GW

Do they have road driver that make the 5 mile trek like the do or did for DAL and Fort Worth? I always felt bad for the low Chicagoland driver where it took longer to hook than it took to drive it.

These satellite terminals can be confusing, and it always sucks to be the guy shuttling sets between the two. I ran out of ETO (East Toronto) which was the smaller satellite to the bigger WTO (West Toronto). Occasionally if WTO had too much Freight from TOL, and I only had 1 loaded pup, they'd give me a via through WTO on my way home.

They have several drivers that shuttle...and dock, and run rails to the rail yard. Not my cup of tea, yet they claim to make good money doing it.
