It's fine. I worked under a contract, expecting the Teamsters to pay what we contracted. If this bailout goes thru, we all receive it, including me. But I won't cheer for it thru a taxpayer bailout.

People try to turn this (and SSI) into a "so you wont take it" argument. That is like saying no one should take contracted benefits because a different party won the election. Just like some on here cheer FOR a certain outcome and others cheer ANTI a certain outcome, in the end were all in this together, trying to solve the problem. This isn't winners and losers- we've all already lost in this pension issue. The problem with Socialism is simple- eventually, we run out of Other Peoples Money....

Do you only take contracted money from the Fund when certain politicians you like are in power? I expect nothing from the fund when i retire. I expect it'll be drained. The way the contracted payouts were set up, I'm due 2455@ month in a year and 3 months. When the Fund fails, the contracted payout comes to approx 760. Congressional Oversight has stated that the PGB will collapse, soon as CSPF goes into default. I don't expect to consider retirement for 8-10 years, at least, if my health and happiness continues.

Is this the same guy that just give the great big tax cut? With its projected budget increase? Its almost comical. Only thing he is worried about is the money spent to close the donut hole.

    Rand always votes against deficits.

Can't find the video of him decrying the $43 million our Government spent building a natural gas station in Afghanistan, to fight global warming. Then, since there were no natural gas cars there, we bought them some. Then, since they had no money to buy the gas, we sent them credit cards.

    Amerika- what a Kountry!!!

You could convince me to join your cause of public funding, if you could promise it replaces Foreign Aid we sent to places that want to kill us- like the PLO, Hammas, Iran, Mexico, etc....

Senator Brown, The Pension Rights Center, etc. and I would like to welcome SAC 75, WOLF and the rest of the FIGHTERS to the movement to create a "NATIONAL PENSION" and a single payer health care system, WELCOME!!!!!!! The creation of the "pension committee" was to keep you asleep until after the mid term election. Just like the G.A.O. report on the forensic audit put the FIGHTERS asleep last year. Instead of bailing out CSPF and the U.M.W of America pension fund, congress should give every American a pension equal to at least PBGC guarantee of $12,870 per year. After all it is their tax dollars the FIGHTERS want to use to bail out their pension fund. I suppose the fighters haven't noticed it yet, the only time democrats can find the time for a photo op is when they are in no position to help them. Remember Hoffa went to Obama for a bail out, Remember democrats had both houses of congress and a filibuster proof senate, no bail out. Fighters noticing a pattern!!!! In all fairness to the DEMOCRATS the bailout to social security is costing 60 billion and rising every year. So they are bailing out the NATIONS pension fund. Which brings me to the deplorable action of the fighters. stealing the future of active working Teamsters, and THE TEAMSTER UNION itself. The pension fund cannot survive on contributions alone!!!! It needs to pay out investment income only!!!!! Therefore the FIGHTERS need to "CALL" their senators and representatives today and insist they pass MPRA II today. Because we need deeper cuts TODAY!!!!!!!!!!

SAC, WOLF would you be for a law that would allow for a partition of multi employer pension funds with no withdraw penalty for affected employers. That law would allow organized labor to more effectively compete with non unionized companies. How could any Good Union Man be against a law that would give a union brother job security and prosperity.

I would, but you also know the guys with the whiskers would not. I don’t blame them either. This pension thing is a very decisive subject for sure. I don’t know what to do with it. If I did I would be pushing for it.

The Western States Pension Fund seems to make the right choices and is making money. Why are the clowns who control the CSPF still at the wheel. The least they could do is mirror a fund that is doing well.
The government was supposed to have the oversight of CSPF their for who is getting paid for not doing their job ?

How about a law that forces the non unions to provide a pension to level the field......How could any decent human being not wish that solution for his neighbor. When you start talking seriously about a fix let me know when it includes all those that ****ed this up and not just those that are collecting for the fix.

Such a law requiring a pension be provided wouldn't pass Constitutional Muster.. things like requiring insurance was discussed in the SCOTUS Decision on ObamaCare. It would apply equally to pensions.

CAB LIZZARD, you have brought up a topic worthy of discussion. The much anticipated G.A.O. audit of the "Wall Street Bankers" showed no failing on their part in performing their duties as laid out by the CSPF " trustees ". So for Senator Brown and others to still say wall street stole CSPF retirees pensions is a little erroneous at best. Per the expert testimony to congress by the NUCPP CSPF witness. The reason the pension fund turned into a ZOMBIE pension fund ,was. Large retroactive pension increases to employees whose employers subsequently went out of business, failing to pay for those pension increases. It was the Teamster members themselves who are directly responsible for the condition of CSPF. They voted for officers who promised them large retroactive pension increases. Knowing the company they worked for was likely to go out of business, they voted for officers who would not cut their unfunded pension also. This has led to more financial pressure on the remaining surviving companies. LIZZARD do you think the western conference pension fund has many teamster companies in its investment portfolio? If you haven't figured it out yet Jimmy G, SAC, WOLF and the rest of the fighters, the end game is a "National Pension" with a single payer health care. Embrace the future, be happy!!!!!
