Sounds like they get close enough to be road kill

The decoys are covered in real dear skin. The eyes glow in the headlights.

A friend at the parts store was with a hunting buddy when they saw a deer after dark. You know the rest. The buddy stopped his truck & both shot at the decoy. When the blue lights came on the buddy kept shooting till he emptied his rifle. The game wardens wrote then tickets & asked why he kept shooting after he knew they were there. In a typical redneck response he said he knew he was going to pay a fine so he wanted to get the most bang for his buck. The game wardens saw no humor in it.
