FedEx Freight | Policy Update: Active collision mitigation system & Fwd facing cameras

The scorecard has gone away for the company but the Feds still keep a scorecard on you AND the company and there's nothing that any of us can do about that!!
So you consider "what can you do differently" corrective action?? News flash: this is the real world, you no longer get participation trophys!!
I've heard "rumors" of what he did to get a temp vacation but I wasn't there so I won't comment...and neither should you!! Just curious, do you condone the type of driving behaviors that this driver was alleged guilty of??
I don't believe in participation trophys my friend. Nice spin we aren't talking about d.o.the. scorecard but nice try. Just like the company changed the name of call outs from a " point system " to an "occurrence " same freaking thing just a change of words. Your a bigger fool than I thought or just a bad liar about the scorecard. But then again your credibility in clt is just about as bad the company's.

Red how come you feel you always have to come to the defense of the company no matter what. What's in it for you or are you just that much of a --------
Not defending the company at all, just calling you guys out for your false claims, demagoguery, and your constant use of fear mongering!!
What's in it for me...the satisfaction of exposing you guys for the frauds that you are...and trust me, it's very satisfying!!

Frauds that a strong word your looping everyone in. I've stated nothing that isn't going on at our barn.

What people need to understand and realize about this is that all these little coaching sessions they are having stays in there file. Now it may not have been your fault, you could have gotten cut off but had to apply your brake hard and they coach you on a possible rear-end accident. That stays in your file forever, when a serious incident does happen then they go back for how long you have been here. They will not keep that video that long but yet Driver Advisor has to write something on you. Pretty scary stuff. So you can say what you want about your great driving and how good you are it only takes one time. It's only a matter of time, the system is young before guys start losing there jobs. But hey you keep believing the company when they call you in and say "it's no big deal".

The DOT scorecard is the only one in play!!
So now you have a problem with words?? All the former scorecard did was apply points to our policies that are already in place, fool, and the points actually allowed more leeway than the policies themselves but you guys were to disgruntled to comprehend this!!
Fear mongering at its finest!!

Let's try to get back on topic please!!

There isn't one thing I have just posted was false. But you keep on punching red. Not one thing. I put up the peoplenet Web you can't dispute it at all. I've spoken to guys around the country having these meetings and everyone of them told me the same story no conflicts in there story.

One thing red, we don't need to use scare tactics or fear mongering or lies to help our cause. That would only hurt it and you know it. The company does a good job of it for us and always steps on there-----. We have patients and takes advantage when they do.

Is fear mongering all you have??
I'm going to have to go with yes!!

In the scenario you gave, if the driver was innocent the video would've exonerated them!! You do realize the video goes back and records BEFORE the "trigger" occurred??!!

There scenario I gave is true, it is from the south and the driver didn't want to be mentioned so I will respect his request.

ATL is getting there class Monday, I will ask our driver who does a meet with them if the headway is on any hold, like I said it's still being recorded, might not be a counciling event but there has been no preshift on this and I know there was some couching on these events as of last week

It's kind of tough to comment accurately on specifics of a system that is evolving. Some portions, put on hold while being worked out, etc. I will say that we should all be on the same page, in terms of communicating the policy. We stay tuned...

Clearly, Southerntrucker, you are mistaken in stating that 2 seconds headway qualifies as "tailgating". That is nonsense. It may violate policy and trigger an event, but is not even close to rising to the level of tailgating, or aggressive driving.

One element that is unquestionably good, is the video evidence that so called "ghost braking" is real, despite vendor assurances to the contrary.
Following closer than 2 seconds at speeds above 55mph for more than 3 miles isn't tailgating.....without doing the math for average reaction time if you don't think that is tailgating and safe then yes..you should be worried....and now see why you are. Good luck. I guarantee you will be having a chat with someone.

Then why in the hell do you guys continue to do it????? :idunno:

You've spent half of the morning here doing just that, fear mongering, while others have spent the last week or so making phone calls and sending text saying the same thing...and you guys wonder why you're losing so much support!!???!! :emoticon digging:

Do you not see the difference between your post and others?? Gator, Southerntrucker, and others for example, give opinions of their issues, they provide feedback on their issues, and they offer solutions to their issues if needed...you just give false claims (based on hearsay), attack and place blame on others instead of looking into the mirror, and and provide no solution other than your failed agenda!!

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem!!

You drive for peoplenet??

"I've spoken to guys around the country"...again, admitted hearsay.
I've spoken to guys around the country too and their experiences contradict yours but I'm not on here speaking for them...but then again, I don't pretend to be a shop steward either!!

Here is my last attempt to explain why I don't like the headway . Let's use Reds 3 seconds he likes and he's going along and thinks his day went great. Next week your in front of your Saftey couching because you where 2.9 seconds for 3 miles.
What you consider safe will be a infraction for ever after the fact. So 1/10 of a second has you in the office

Reaction times vary greatly with situation and from person to person between about 0.7 to 3 seconds (sec or s) or more. Some accident reconstruction specialists use 1.5 seconds. A controlled study in 2000 (IEA2000_ABS51.pdf) found average driver reaction brake time to be 2.3 seconds...........if you can't figure it out from this then you'll have problems too....is it really that hard to get.....

Since we don't have the cameras yet, I'll have to speculate on how I'd respond. 1/10 of a sec is petty but it is what it is. If I received the coaching session then so be it (coaching sessions don't bother me, I have a file full of them and I understand their intent). From then on out I'd try to make sure I stayed 4 secs back in metro areas to prevent it from happening again but I'd also try to "get er done" when possible.

At the end of the day, I sign the back of the check, not the front!! :1036316054:

Southern I will let my Saftey record speak for itself. I have a disagreement with it so be it.
If the company chooses to go to four seconds and 3.9 gets you in the office

Yes it's petty and I agree with it but that the recording starts at 2 seconds and you in your mind think your far enough 1.9 gets you in trouble. I would quit talking about this if the truck would just run the speed limit and 90% of this will go away on its own
