AN elderly couple has died in a collision with a road train at an intersection in southern Queensland, police said.
A spokeswoman said the accident occurred at 1.45pm (AEST) when the couple's Ford Falcon station wagon towing a caravan collided with a prime mover pulling two trailers at the intersection of the Gore and Leichhardt Highways.

The 84-year-old man and his 79-year-old wife, believed to be from South Australia, died at the scene, 18km north of Goondiwindi.
