XPO | Rebranding today

Which it is. You pick a candidate and then the one that gets elected is free to do as they wish until the next election. It's a democratic Republic. Well, actually it's a capitalistic Republic. Because it's currency that truly controls everything. But the currency is out of control and we are heading towards socialism at break neck speed.

People think they need a nanny government but don't want to lose any freedoms. History for thousands of years show any government that gets some power eventually evolves into enslaving it's citizens. No matter how well their intentions are. A shame that people think we're so rich of a country we need to take care of everyone don't realize we can't sustain that. The next generation or the one after that, if there's still a USA will realize they've voted themselves into a form of slavery.

Slavery comes in so many forms. Look at us all complaining about not being able to work 60+ a week.

last week in mon morning meeting our tm said they started rebranding trailer and he said there was 5 stations doing this across the country just wondering if that is what you guys heard also

No. But , I've seen ( and pulled plenty of blank trailers ) a few rebranded XPO Logistics trailers for the first time at my terminal this week.

Our FOS did tell us that re-branding was going to get going last week, but no specifics as to what you have posted,

Thanks for the info...too bad that not every service center gets all the facts as to what's actually happening w/ the re-branding, or any other thing that is going down w/ our company. I have to come onto this forum to get the full scoop.

I haven't seen too much re-branded anything lately. However I did notice something different about the pro labels on one shipment this morning...it had "XPO LOGISTICS" instead of the usual "CONWAY FREIGHT printed on the top of the sticker.

Does that count for at least some kinda re-branding??? If it does... then we have concrete evidence that at the very least this re-branding isn't completely dead...just on life support, probably a respirator. :kicking:

Good. Hopefully that will stop the "sinking ship" comments from the peanut gallery.

Nah W1...the peanut man will never stop w/ the negativity, he simply loves the thrill of tweaking our noses too much. If he ever said anything half way constructive, inspiring or uplifting about our company...I think he'd shrivel up and fade away. All the XPO/Conway haters out there are just hoping something will happen to us. And they're right, something will happen to us...we'll grow and prosper...but it'll take time just like the re-branding will take time. :1036316054:

I'm glad they stuck with the big yellow stickers- seems like every other carrier uses a tiny white label that you can barely see on the freight.

Yeah SG...I kind of agree w/ u on them adopting Conway's florescent yellow bright high visibility pro stickers. They're so much easier to find on a shipment than the tiny inconspicuous pro's that I see on shipments by other carries. The problem that really bugs me about XPO is that they have no creative or contributory ideas of their own in the LTL biz. It seems to me that they've pretty much adopted all of Conway's ways in their LTL model. It seems like all the remaining top former Conway brass are still calling the shots and running the show as to what is policy and procedure for this company. It surely would be totally refreshing if XPO came up w/ some thoughts and ideas that were new and not Conway influenced.

Along with that VP, I think that some of these companies need to just take a deep breath, think for a minute, and go back to the basics..........deliver and pick-up freight on time, and stop destroying it in the process.
It used to be called the KISS system.

Most of these companies have over-thought the process and have screwed it all up.

Already doing the same job for $100 million less. Those were some pretty good ideas.

Yeah HS...I know that CNW has always had good ideas in their LTL model and now XPO has improved on those ideas and cut out a lot of the fat and saved corporate tons. I was just hoping to see something somewhere along the way that is totally non- Conway.

Maybe if they'd brake ground for an 'Economy Freight' facility next door to our barn...then I'd get excited. Maybe if they trained us on cross selling to our well established LTL customers , I'd get excited. Maybe if they had me go to our local rail yard and pickup a container and then go drop it off at a local consignee...maybe I'd get excited . Maybe if 'Last mile' showed to use our dock on a Saturday and I was offered OT to work their dock...I know for sure that I'd get excited.

My point: surely there must be something waiting in the wings that will eventually break forth in this company that will give rise to the notion that we are more than what Conway was and seems to forever to be. What I'd like to see is for XPO to get out from under the shadow of Big Brother CNW and then blossom into the multi service logistics company that it's dying to be,(in it's own right).
But I guess that will take time. And I'll be here waiting for some of these things to happen...and hope that at least one of them is launched before I cross my career finish line.

We are the economy freight facility, it's why they bought us.

We cost to much to pull containers or work the dock for last mile.

Con-way is not the big brother. XPO bought us.

And they bought us to supplement their already existing multi service logistics offerings.

I would say at some point our terminals will be used as a meet place for last mile to pick up freight that goes to people's house's, that would seem a logical thing to do, use Ltl to get stuff from warehouses to what city it needs to go to, then last mile has a local place to pick it up for their service.
That already seems to be in the works somewhere if you go by the job postings. Where the job openings are located , the job description , and what Last Mile does , you can see something beginning to take shape.

Here's an example of one of the postings - this one is for the entire United States. That was the only one I've seen like that.
