It's no secret that Holland reopened a sizeable number of Red Star's terminals after Red Star closed, but the locations of the terminals Holland didn't reopen seem to be lost to time. Of three I was generally able to learn about, I was only able to get an address for the Boston terminal in Billerica, MA. Estes is using it now.

I know they were in Rochester, NY and Portland, ME but no addresses come up through Google. I also know they had terminals in Toronto and Montreal, at least once upon a time, but there are no service maps or addresses for any of it.

I was wondering if anyone could fill in the blanks. I would hate for this information to be lost to time and would like to see what is going on with these terminals today.

Update: Milford, CT is a FedEx Freight terminal now. Newark, NJ appears to have been flattened.

Update: Plattsburgh, NY was flattened to make room for a restaurant. Rochester, NY doesn't appear to be in use for more than storage. ODFL is using Portland, ME. And Long Island, NY appears to have been flattened and turned into a storage lot.

For anyone curious how I dug this all up, I used the Wayback Machine internet archive to access usfc.com circa 2004. The terminal locator didn't work precisely, but the archive itself was able to access stored data from the locator.

The Newark NJ I terminal is there and intact at 400 Delancy Street. It's now Continental Hardware, the building is almost the same. The dock and inside doors are filled with lumber and the yard has outside lumber racks and brick storage. On the south side of the property they cut a rail spur into the property to unload Brick/lumber. The office upstairs are rented out. Even the old shaky parking deck is still there. The large shop on the back I don't know about.

The South Brunswick NJ terminal is till there. FedEx Freight is in there , remodeled the whole place. Is just off of Route 130 on the south side.

Didn't Red Star have a terminal in the Shrewsbury Mass area? Think it was on route 20.

Thanks for the contributions! I wondered if it might be the hardware store, but it's hard to tell using street view.

Red Star opened a Detroit terminal in the late seventies. I left the area in 1981. I heard Red Star shut their Detroit terminal down a couple of years later.
