Has anyone heard if the redshirt paycuts and the 401k match suspension are temporary or the way of the new world and here to stay

From the info in earnings release and subsequent emails and preshifts on Thursday, to the extensive coverage in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, cnn.com, etc., etc., it seems the paycuts for salaried employees are permanent, with no raises in 2009. The suspension of the 401K match is planned for 2009 only, unless things get worse. That's how I read everything, anyway.
