Saw a Saia reefer today in Columbus. Whassup with that? Never seen one before. What kind of freight do you guys use them for? (This was an actual reefer, not a heated van trailer)

They're used as heater vans... most of them used to be Xtra lease reefers, but we use them for 'protect from freeze' freight in the winter.

Copy. I wasn't sure if it was to use them as heaters for that kind of freight or something crazy they were doing. I haven't seen a Dayton reefer yet, just the heaters. Thanks for the info.

They use them on short linehaul runs out of the Chicago area all the time, as well. Still not enough pups in the system yet to go around.
