Good friend and fellow trucker went to be with the Lord Monday evening, Phil ran GBO and Roa for many years. Here's the arrangements per knoxnews.com EGAN, PHILIP ORA - age 72, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully, Monday evening, April 9, 2012 at his home. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and a member of Cherokee Masonic Lodge. Philip was a United States Navy veteran and a truck driver for 47 years. He was retired from Averett Trucking Company. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Hazel Egan and brother Donald Earl Egan. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Martha Ann Egan; daughters and sons-in-law, Darena Ann and Gary Northern and Amy Machelle and Randy Hancock; granddaughters, Sarah Olivia Hancock and Lucy Ann-Marie Northern and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many special friends. Funeral service 8:00 PM Thursday, Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Dr. Charles Wender officiating. Family and friends will meet by 1:30 PM Friday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel and proceed to Highland West Cemetery for a 2:00 PM interment service with full military honors. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 1420 Dutch Valley Road, Knoxville, TN 37918 or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
