This was sent in an email to corporate. Seems someones doing some screaming?
A lot of us employees were wondering why RL layed off a driver here in Denver a little over a week ago, yet there paying big $$ for a temp service? He was a Paramount driver and a good one. Yet weeks before and up to today our management has been using an outside placement service (Pro-Drivers) working at least 2 temp drivers a day.
The paramount driver was making around $16 to be here, yet our mgmt (RL) is paying Pro-Drivers around $30 +/- per driver to be here! (Pro-Drivers usually charges customers $25 to $35 per driver they send out, there drivers are paid $16 per hr)
Lets do the math shall we?
RL/Paramount Driver @ 8 hrs a day at $16 an hour equals $128 for those 8 hours.
Pro-Drivers times 2 drivers almost daily @ around $60 an hr, lets say, times 8 hrs equals $480 for the day! That's $2,400 for a 40 hr week as compared to the RL/Paramount driver who's making $640 a week.
Now with all the Fuel contests and all going on to try and save the company money.
Why in the world are we laying off, then using an outside temp service to fill in the gaps at a very much higher cost to the company?
Our dispatcher and TM say were short handed, that's why the outside temp service. Yet they laid off a driver.
Seem's someone's wasting a lot of money during a time in our growth, and during a time when being wasteful should not be tolerated!
