Been with SEFL for 10+ years and in that amount of time I haven't seen it this bad, not even during the great recession.

I have only worked two, five day weeks since this past fall. We were almost to the point of three day weeks until enough people raised a fuss with the TM and he moved some drivers to other positions temporarily. I have grown accustomed to rotation over my course of years with SEFL but something has to be in the works. I have talked with other drivers, P&D and linehaul that are having the same issues.

The reason I mentioned something has to be in the works is this. We are steadily hiring drivers. Our TM just hired two, while we are rotating 6+ drivers a day. I brought this up to him, his response was he's getting ready for the freight to pick up in the summer. Funny thing is that the freight has already picked up but we have more drivers than we need. It wouldn't surprise me if our terminal next fall or winter the P&D drivers are only working three day weeks. The P&D drivers should be the second highest paid people in our terminals, right behind linehaul drivers. If this continues, P&D drivers will be the second lowest paid drivers because of the lack of hours. Seems like the "take care of your people" motto is becoming a thing of the past.

I dealt with that the entire 8 yrs I worked there. I STILL think they should bring ther Union in! Although W.T. Said he would close the doors before he let a union in his company. Seems NOTHING WILL EVER CHANGE! All SEFL cares about is their own pocket, not you driver

No driver, Southeastern may be a lot of things and are certainly all about the numbers, however, they are the money maker. With a 7% growth last year breaking the billion dollar revenue mark, it certainly is not a tax write off.

Absolutely I agree 100%, the Cassels own the terminals and Southeastern paid rent to them, no doubt. That's where they make their money from Southeastern. But, Southeastern being a tax write off? Maybe I'm not seeing something. I just feel the company makes to much money to be a tax write off.

The company is a tax write off for them meaning it dont matter if it makes money or not they are there to supply jobs to people
