Rumor probably started by a trader with a paid investment blog/newsletter hoping to run the stock price up.

Rumors ran the XPO stock up at end of last year. Nothing came out of the rumors though ( Home Depot , Amazon and XPO have never commented on rumors that I'm aware of )
