Charges vs Earnings
Just remember that the charges are usually one time event just as earnings from the sale of real estate are a one time event. That is why they are noted in the news releases. You want to look at the year to year comparisons excluding the events (good or bad).
Just remember the trucking industry as a whole had a very good year as a result of the post hurricane recovery efforts that involve the transportation industry. Coming down off the mountain top is always going to seem like a great letdown.
It will be extremely interesting to see how the acquisition and intergration of the two newest companies add to the bottom line.
