Gov. Sarah Palin, who is being considered for a cabinet position in the Trump administration -- is raising alarm over president-elect's recently announced deal with Carrier, suggesting in an op-ed it could amount to "crony capitalism."

"When government steps in arbitrarily with individual subsidies, favoring one business over others, it sets inconsistent, unfair, illogical precedent," Palin wrote in a 'Young Conservatives' op-ed. "Republicans oppose this, remember? Instead, we support competition on a level playing field, remember? Because we know special interest crony capitalism is one big fail."

Sometimes you have to act immediately in order to save something.
I think an equal corporate tax rate is on the horizon for all U.S businesses .

I'm surprised that she would come forth with such comments right when she is/was on the cusp of scoring a Cabinet seat. I do not know if she is right or wrong but without those jobs here what taxes would be reaped?

You have to have an even playing field...If two businesses are manufacturing the same product, you cannot give one a tax break because he or she is a donor or a friend , without giving the other the same break.
Imagine if you were selling Goodyear tires and paying federal income tax at 35% and
a relative of the governor was selling Goodyear tires 10 miles away and had a federal rate of 15%. It would not only be crony...it would be worth fighting and dying for..especially if it were your business .

Not over taxing and over regulating business would allow for a level playing field
The left is looking for any excuse to tear this deal apart even using the words of someone who may not have studied the particulars of the deal
    Face it
Barry still in power Carrier leaves
    Hilly wins, Carrier leaves
Trump made a phone call and Carrier stays

Isn't that what ABF was asking for with the pension and concessions.

It is but, it can be said with certainty that yrcw would be out of business if they continued full pension contributions.
It can also be said that ABF would have assumed YRCW'S pension obligations which would have been unsustainable for ABF.
It's not a perfect system but I think we would all agree the more decent jobs we can keep the better.

What is her agenda to criticize her potential boss?
She may be right, however to blurt out her thoughts in public is not really looking good on her resumé for any future political office.
Oh well like anything else, time will tell on this.

I love being in a party where individuals can have their opinions and not be ostracized for it. When you listen to the robots on the left spewing the exact same words it is sad...they are not allowed to have an opinion.

And that's what got him into office. He is like a democrat from a long time ago, no pc :horseshit:, no whining, he recognises people want jobs, and don't want to get cut off at the hammies with taxes.

I never was a fan of hers, I'm a registered democrat, I'm done with the party. When Donald trump takes the message that rust belt blue collar guys have been saying for decades, and runs on it, winning the "blue wall", it shows the REAL priorities of the democrat party.

Especially when bernie tries to run the same platform on trade and jobs, yet concedes happily, then goes on to protest the nodak pipeline (GOOD union jobs there), and the way he handled the carrier situation. I guess when he was in buffalo, listing off all the jobs around here that nafta took, he was just posturing.
