TForce | Seems really wierd midnight 4/30/06 its over?

i agree t251 he wont get todays rate for what he worked twenty years ago to get should have went to a teamster company spent 5 years in that system before he retired gained on retirment money

There is an old yankee saying. When one door closes, another opens. I hope everyone from "O" and "MC" has a prosperous, healthy and bright career ahead with UPSF. We'll be going at warp speed from here on out. UPSF has a lot of ground to catch up if wants to play with the big dogs. Thank God big brother has deep pockets, they're going to need it. "O" was much like Rodney Dangerfields, "No Respect", I won't miss it:wavey:

I can tell you what will be his larger check.
It will be from Overnite.
His Teamstedr pension will be based on his last rate of contribution and the years he has up until the last year contributed and the last rate contributed too.

Based on what he has mentioned it been a long time since he was a Teamster. He will not receive the raises that everyone else received becuase he wasn't a contributory member. He must also have filed a withdrawl card to protect that pension.

His Teamster check will be smaller. It will be based on the rate at the time he stopped contributing too it.
Simple, he won't be screwed by the Teamster witha small check like many of you may think, he will only get what is coming to him.

Hope this clears things up and answers your question, maybe he didn't understand you or missed the question all together.

T251
but,if we organized, and he got the back credits for his years at overnite, then the ny state pension check would be very much more.:tribehasspoken: :bgroovy: :smilie_132: :bgroovy:

I just got hired on to the new ups freight and I am very excited to be joining. I am leaving a life of servitude as a Yellow road driver. No more waiting for those slave drivers to call and control my life...it's city driving from here out! I also worked for AF and was around when we were bought up by FedEx. You guys are in for a hell of a ride. Our freight levels TRIPLED easily and room for advancement was never ending. I went from dock to yard to city to road in a matter of a year. And with the UPS name and all the sales and tech. backing dominance is soon at hand.

Why did you leave AF/FXF?

T251,
I was fired by FedEx Frieght for installing an XM radio in my truck. I had permission from the shop to put it in but some S.O.B. went to the linehaul mgr. (whom I trained on the dock) and he said well that's destruction of company property we're gonna have to let you go. I was shocked!!!! That job i would have stayed with for as long as heavenly possible. Now I'm leaving Yellow for UPS so I can get my home life back. Being a Yellow road driver is great financially but If you have a family it is the worst job to have. I don't care about any major benefits just as long as I get a decent paycheck and can go home when i'm done.....priceless.

Hey Wassesname,T251 is right.
I hired on with Overnite in 1986.
I received my retirement printout 1 year later.
I was a teamster from 1966 till 1986 all low paying union years.
For my 20 years credit,I'm going to receive $810.00 per month.
Better than a lot of drivers I know that weren't vested when their companies closed the doors, and they weren't able to collect anything.
Hope this answers your question,my friend.

May the Lord direct your path it works for me.

apostolic...thank you for getting back to me... but T251 explained it better, i know now better who to ask for a strate answer promptly, i might add. but i wish you good luck anyway my friend

has anyone out there seen/been seeing the new trucks/trailers with upsf on em,or has any even hit the streets/roads yet, just curious as to if they have been out,or if they're waiting till monday for the upsf equipment to hit the roads/streets.have'nt seen any up here in my neck of the woods, but we're the armpit of the company/system up here.

We don't have any in my neck of the woods yet. I heard that the new trucks will hit the streets in the morning. If they have been on the streets they have had a sticker over the UPSF emblem on the doors.

Slapped the ol' UPSfreight over the Motor Cargo last night in Salt Lake. And one of the Volvos was all painted up and on the grass in front of the newly logoed building.
