Semi hauling vodka overturned near hyw 70 in Clayton,NY

Questionable Wrecker operators.
The truck's cab and trailer were disconnected to try to right the rig. But when crews tried to get the trailer upright, the weight of the load bent the metal body against the straps.
Since the load is on the right side, well duh.

Questionable "driver" who's probably now unemployed or unemployable in Trucking. Lesson LEARNED the hard way.
The North Carolina State Highway patrol conducted a weight inspection and faulted the driver, 33-year-old Johnathan Davis Chrissy, of Kingsland, Georgia, for the crash. Troopers said Chrissy did not lock down the load, causing it to shift in the trailer when he took the turn onto Shotwell.
What drivers carry enough straps to secure loads? The only real straps that would work (and are cumbersome to use) are CARGO NETTING STRAPS like Airlines, USPS, FEDEX use.

"driver" might also have been travelling too fast.

Even back in the day Overnite put airbags between skids that were stacked.
Such as computers,or some other high ticket items.
Air bags took care of any load shifting, the best loads always rode the better high & tight.
The cost of a compressor & bags are way cheaper than big freight claims, along with very unhappy customers.

At one time several liquor warehouses in this area had their product brought in by rail because of the pricing. There was so much damage & missing bottles they went to truck haul even though the cost was some higher there was no loss or damage. As best I know the liquor is still brought in from the distillers by truck.
