It's not capitalism per se... It's the corrupted version of it that we have....thanks in large part to the influx of Corporate money and influence over politicians and policy........ More oversight of Corporations as opposed to less..... I have no issues with Government regulations as long as those regulations protect the average citizen .......but corruption continues to erode those things that help average citizens and hence we see less Corporate control by government and more corporate control over Government..... Moving to Somila would not be congruent with my ideas of a Government that provides for the best interests of it's citizens..... It's more of a match for some of the ideas expressed on here by some of the posters that are part of the "everyone for themselves" crowd.....
That is why I reference and recommend Somila to those posters.....

more piss poor financial planning by our govt over lords
lets give them more power, NOT

no they pay sales taxes depending on the state they live in
that said, a poor person with a $2000 tax liabaility should not be getting back $8000 as a EITC, that is a $10,000 swing times the number of times it happens
In all the "socialist havens" that people like to point out that have all the "free stuff" everyone pays

we all have "access" here, its the law
Remember Barry getting up their for years "access to affordable healthcare" of course all his tampering did was make it more expensive

no the lib dream is all rainbows and unicorns

No the brand of 'capitalism" that we currently have in this nation is corrupt
under capitalism inferior products or services go away
in the USA today, they get a bailout, just ask GM

yes it is we are no longer governed by moral men
    they are greedy pos

they live with the unicorns under the rainbow
    is no such thing
    proof
we can agree that Hilly is a little corrupt, not a single Dem has broken ranks or spoke out

if the system is balanced, which it is not
as the left moved further left, the right followed
the interests of the citizen are being completely ignored

Mags. First, I'll give you that one about the couch.

You criticized Ms Davis in Ky because her beliefs of not issuing marriage certificates affected others. You said her 1st Amendment Rights couldn't be used in the workplace.

Kap is affecting others too. He is forcing his opinion into being seen as that of the owners, coaches, and other players. His expression is reflecting in lower ticket sales, and fights. He has the right to protest, but not to make his employer look bad. That is in his contract (and mine). I can't even criticize my employer on Social Media and expect to keep my job. The Niners are perfectly legal if they decide to fire him over this.

It goes back to this Jimmy, and I will repeat also that what does the National Anthem have to do with football or baseball?

    The "one drop rule" reminds me of how 30 years ago, nobody claimed to be Native American. But once the free stuff started getting handed out to the Native Americans, all of the sudden it was "Hi how are ya". {with hand raised like Tonto.}
The Blacks are doing the same thing nowadays. Whenever they get in a jam, the play the race card expecting everyone to have sympathy and allow them to vent their frustrations.
Sorry, but I don't buy any of it.
This hyphenated - B.S. needs to stop. Each one of them are Americans first.

In an attempt to cover up the fact that the freeloaders DO NOT pay Federal Income Taxes, the leftists continue to bring up the issue of "everyone pays taxes", as though we didn't already know that everyone pays taxes on products, and even property. It's just their way of moving around the shiny object to defend those who don't pay Federal Income taxes like the rest of us do. It's a lame argument.

Yep, but those who have little or no skin in the game don't care how much Obamacare costs the rest of us. It's all about them. Pure selfishness.

The Libs wouldn't know the difference between crony capitalism and real capitalism if it slapped them in the face.
    In their mind, Hillary stuffing her pockets with blood money is capitalism. "Hey, she has the right to run her crime family foundation like a CEO runs a business." {even though she is selling her influence, which is illegal.}

Yep. Not one prominent Democrat has spoken out against crooked Hillary. I will give them credit, they circle the wagons to protect each other. But that's also why they have already lost the Senate and the House, and are about to lose the Presidency. People are tired of their crooked ways.

    Very true. But I'll bet that if you asked these two guys if they love and respect their country, respect the police, and respect the military, the answer would be yes.{And they both probably vote Republican.}
Where the Democrat, Colin Kaperdink, wears socks that have a pig with a police uniform on.

Kappy is marrying some Muslim and converted to Islam (allegedly). Add in that he's just a well paid back up now, it adds up to him keeping it very real. He was standing when he was a starting QB a couple years ago.

Her problems began when she took it upon herself to discriminate against gay/lesbian couples by not issuing marriage licences ......which is against the 14th amendment ...
The Equal protection clause...which was also the basis for many other decisions rejecting discrimination against people such as racial segregation.......

No he isn't..... I have not read any articles that anyone was "forced" to believe that his actions and viewpoints are those of the owners and other players....or coaches....

Yes....lets put a "price" on a persons right to protest...... If it costs to much....then it should be forbidden..... Welcome to the "The United Coporate States of America"

Like I said.... "Welcome to the United Coporate States of America"...... And you probably still think the Government should run like a business..... You see how Corporations feel about freedom of speech and other rights don't you?.... They're fine with them....just leave them at the door....

The answer is......nothing..... Pro sports is nothing more than big business .... The only exception I see to that is the Olympic "games."... The whole thing with this is just another opportunity to distract and divide....

So just how do you propose to NOT give them more power?.... "Vote" for one set of corrupted politicians over another set of corrupted politicians......? ... Rather bleak outlook if you ask me.......

That's right....and they pay tax on everything they purchace....which in turn provides stimulus in the economy......and in those states without a state income tax there are higher sales tax or other fees etc.... The money to run the state comes from someplace.....if not an income tax then from other sources.....

That said, huge wealthy Corporations and other wealthy people shouldn't be clamoring for more tax breaks and some even getting refunds when they paid zero federal taxes....all at the expense of society..
Why are you so concerned about making the poor people pay more while advocating that the wealthiest should pay less if not anything?.... Then you wonder why and how Capitalism became the corrupted....

What do you mean "no"..... You just said the samething I did...... Capitalism in this country has become corrupted....... Irreversibly so, in my opinion....

In theory....and perhaps in earlier times....but capitalism also provides a perfect environment for greed to grow....more drive for profit.....never enough....always having to make more......eventually at any cost...people and the best interests of the Nation are sacrificed for profit.... That's what we have now....
Capitalism with proper regulatory oversight to guard against greed taking a foothold would be much better.....but you've been convinced that less to no regulatory oversight is better....well....you should be able to clearly see how that has worked...

Yes....and don't forget to ask the Wall Street Bankers how bailouts worked for them as well..... Also ask why they get bailed out and have since become even wealthier.....but there is no bailout for the hard working men and women in this country that worked for decades....only to see laws changed to take away their needed pensions.....
You would think the wealthy would reward your loyalty to them for your concern for their wealth.....but they don't care about you at all
    ..... .
You'll get no argument from me on that point...

Honestly, anyone who thinks any of these politicians, of any brand, is going to act on behalf of the best intetests of the majority of the citizens is also living with the "unicorns"...

Yes we can agree that Clinton is corrupted by Corporate interests..... There are literally tens of thousands of "democrats" that have objected to Clinton....especially in the rigged primaries...... Sanders....has objected and spoken out......yes....in the end he "endorsed" her....but he's been silent since....no campaigning for her.....at least not yet....
I know a lot of Republican politicians have come out against Trump....much to their credit.....but some also walk in step with him for the reason of party "unity".... Honestly it has come down to the fact that most people understand the fact that neither party or candidate is representing the needs of average Americans or the betterment of society in general.... Profits first and only....

You seem to find it "fashionable" to blame only and all the "liberals"....but I think that you actually do know that it's corrupted politics and politicians of all "name brands" ......you just can't be seen admiting that on here though...or at least that is how it appears...

Yes IF...the system was balanced....BUT we both know its not......it can endlessly be argued whether or not it's moved to the left or the right or whatever direction you choose...that isn't really relevant...... The main point is that you recognized that the interests of the average American citizens are being ignored..... We both agree with that point and I've been making that point for a long time......along with the point that its not just a "liberal" or "conservative" issue.....
From your points in your overall post...maybe you're begining to see that....

( That doesn't make you a "lib" it makes you a realist)...

No one is covering up the fact that some earn so little they don't make enough to pay federal tax......and from comments made about "skin in the game" and "freeloaders" you make youself appear that you don't understand the facts of how we all have "skin in the game"..... It won't do any good to explain it (again) because it seems its beyond your ability to comprehend....

If you want to read "lame arguments" read your own.....

Technically, nothing except Tradition, and Civic Pride. Clubs started playing it in the 1890s. During WWII, Major League Baseball ordered their clubs to include it. It's spread, as an American Tradition.

Something the username Magoo rejects. Same as the Constitution, the Founding Principles, and Hard Work.

Mags, you've spent years crafting a carefully crafted profile as an Anti-Traditionalist Entitled Slug, seeking Victimhood. I can't understand such. I was raised to appreciate hard work, hard times, and defending others. My Dad went ashore on Normandy Beach. He taught me his values. In school we pledged allegiance to our flag and our nation. We had the President' s picture on the wall. We stood for the Anthem, and we helped Civic Organizations and Churches to make respectful communities. And yes, races got along. My highschool class crowned a black girl prom queen. And my friend and I got pulled over because I, a white kid was drinking from the same soda can as my black friend in 1971 on the Mason Dixon line...

It takes time to put past hate aside and grow colorblind. You, Kap, and obama, have set race relations back 50 years.

Sports has had a relationship with the Anthem for 100 years. No pro athlete can say he's forced into that relationship. Return his lifetime career salary and protest, maybe I'll respect that.

I noticed you dodged my post you responded to, and changed subjects, tho...
