I'm a linehaul driver for Dayton and I got a speeding ticket in my 4 wheeler a few weeks back. Turned it in to the office and I Havnt heard anything back. I went to court today to fight it but ended up losing. So my question is has anyone here gotten a ticket in their personal before and what did Dayton do? What should I expect? Thanks guys

Did you get a lawyer, or did you go to court on your own? The years I worked at DFL, all the guys that had gotten a citation, all had lawyers to have the problem 'worked out'. Do not neglect to put this citation on the form we all got from the safety dept. when they review everyones drivers abstract, iirc it was every 6 mo the safety dept did this. I know of more than one driver that was terminated for ommitting info on that form.

I went by myself. Seeing now I should of gotten a lawyer. But yes I will put it on the form when it comes time for that. I'm just not sure if that ticket goes on the Dayton record of tickets or if it's only tickets in a company vehicle ehen they starts suspensions and all that

One more of 15 over in 3 years and your CDL will be suspended for at least 30 days

With that ticket it may behoove you to appeal it. In PA an appeal costs some money but it's not an obscene amount and when you get to court the DA will be willing to knock that ticket down a notch or two and you can plea it out. I have done this in PA and NY.

If it's in your personal vehicle you still have to report it, but over here at OD it doesn't affect your company status/safety bonus. Hell I got one for 69 in a 55 last July in the car (was doing 72) turned it in and reported it on my violations record... still working AND still got my safety bonus check at Thanksgiving!

It might not show up on your driving record, but don't take the chance. They catch you hiding something & you are gone. At ABF you have to report the CONVICITON NOT THE TICKET 30 days from the date of conviction. If you report the ticket before going to court & have it differed where it does not show up as a conviction or you are found not guilty you kind of shot yourself in the foot.von.

Sweet! Finally some action on the Dayton forum!

It's been quiet around here for a while. Maybe because there's not much to compain about.
