we are still too top heavy on a local level. we cant give enough to support large salaries that do very little, except to send emails 4-12 feet to the next office. cuts will have to made if we will survive. also, we get cut today, we get unemployment. management that is let go-only one- get 26 weeks severance. how do we save money, paying for 6 months for no work. worse yet, this was a w/i guy that made the company 40k monthly, but was paid less than our janitor. we have had one useless manager retire,and an h/r guy quit to go elsewhere. a few other eliminated positions were re-named and we still have those salaries. our only female manager still working, was almost forced to retire, but somebody at overland park reconsidered the legalities. the guy let go in w/i was our only african american. he did not golf with the big wheels.
 
Reading your post was saddening because there is so much truth in your statements... Severence pay for salaried individuals is one week pay for each year of service... Of course there is no lay off for salaried employees, they are terminated...
