For quite some time now I have believed that we here in America would someday welcome Big Brother into our lives for our own security and it looks like we are ever getting closer to that. With video cameras everywhere we almost always expect an undisguised criminal to get caught, fortunately they haven't caught on yet and we are still catching them. If I was a frequent flyer I would lobby for a micro chip to identify me and my credentials so I could avoid long, tedious lines to affirm that I am not a danger to society. Now 'stop and frisk' has been in and out of the picture and may well be coming back. Why? For our own safety. More and more law abiding citizens are ready and willing to give up some of our 'rights' in the name of security.

When we started giving criminals more rights than law abiding citizens, infringement on rights is inevitable..

It all seems palatable when the stopping and hassling gets done to someone else.
When it happens to us we feel violated, at least I do, I don't like it.
It's too much like life behind the iron curtain, or Nazi Germany

Must be a matter of opinion and maybe we should have separate but equal public venues. i e a mall where I submit to a stop and frisk at their will and one where that isn't done and you can shop there. Same with a movie theater and the grocery store. It seems like every day there is another news story that makes me wonder if it's safe to go to any public place.

Oh, but that would bring another fact into play, none of those places that I just mentioned are 'public' places, they are all private venues that the public has the privilege of entering.

Maybe the logical extension is they frisk you when you leave too, that will makesure you don't get away with shop lifiting.
You could try it and see if it gains customers or loses them.

If you want to be safer get the guns off the markets and streets.
    Perfect safety is never possible.

Again most people don't have a problem with it unless it catches them up in something sometime.
As noted in the article these tools can be used politically to quash any dissent.

Then if you been a target go try to find a lawyer to stand up for you,
    and good luck with that.

Nobody's rights have to be violated by stupid :shit: like "stop and frisk". With that being said all you have to do is enforce the laws already on the books! Something like 2% of the federal gun law violations are prosecuted. The prosecution of crimes in Chiraq is a joke and the jail time for the Thugs is laughable at best!

One: that was your side that got hurt.
Two: there were issues with these political fundraising organizations following the rules, which is why they had difficulty getting the exemptions they wanted.

Screw it let the neighborhood fix their own mess. Otherwise let em kill each other and to the many, mostly decent law abiding citizens I guess people will pray for you.

The article says that police collected about 7,000 illegal guns in 2014, and about 5,500 in the first nine months of 2015. In 2013, Chicago seized 6,800 guns. That’s a total of 19,300 guns for 2013, 2014 and the first nine months of 2015. In the same period, there were 5,700 illegal gun possession cases decided in the Cook County court system in the same period, about 3.4 guns per case.

You're a hypocrite. You're against this (as am i), but for Now Fly a lists and for siezing/limiting firearms. You're against States Rights, against Freedom of Religion RFRA, gun rights, and Private Property Rights and Due Process.. Get consistent Mags..

As much as a stop and frisk sounds important,, it's wrong. So is Homeland Security, the Patriot Act, and NSA spying. A 'Law and Order' Prez can easily turn it on decent citizens.
