When I worked in the industry, had I done my job HALF as sloppily I would not have had it for long. This company could be amazing, but the few that actually care are far outweighed by the ones that don't give a rat's patootie about doing the right thing as long as they still get paid.
exactly why it is hard to find the right people to turn this place around. i like so many others try, and have hopes and ideas of what this place could be, but facing reality a lot of us have lost hope too because it only takes one less than normal worker to derail the good work of a dozen, and we have 2 of them at my place on P&D. who will take their place if we get rid of them? no one, cannot even get anyone to apply anymore at my place even though our starting wage is higher, other than con way, within 60 miles. by looking at such things at DOT inspection history, and hearing stories from other terminals, i have it pretty good at my place as far as being a safe place to work and running a tight ship, now if we could just work on management higher than my place and get things in motion........ new work incentive,,,,, do your job or get fired,,,,, derail the progress,,,,, get fired,,,,, jump on the boat of higher income,,,,, or get fired.
