Well did you do your research
What research? You listed a bunch of retail and grocery fleets in a discussion about LTL.
They are less than truckload companies LTL these companies are LTL
Of course they do. I just wanted Sportsman to say it while he's griping about not getting OT.
Last time I checked kohl's didn't have a grocery Isle
Not griping just replying to the od comment about there overtime and all I said was we don't get overtime either
Slow down and read what I wrote. "RETAIL and grocery fleets."
No, they aren't. Can you find any of them on this list? http://www.ttnews.com/top100/ltl/
So when did Wal-Mart become an LTL carrier. Retial and grocery fleet fall into two categories.
1. they are subcontracted carriers meaning you work for someone else. Like Penske Logistics, or Ryder Logistics
2. privately owned carriers like Wal-Mart
To know which one you work for all you need to do is look at your paycheck and see who's name on it.
Another thing privately owned retail and grocery fleets are a "not for hire" trucking. These fleets only haul product for the company they work for. Have you ever seen a Wal-Mart truck pickup a load for target???
last I check they didn't own any trucks either
I think they are considered ltl multiple stops and pickups at stores and shippers they pickup at so yes that is considered LTL just like the over the road company landstar they also do multiple stops and pickups on the same 53 for different customers and shippers sorry if you don't understand
Why sure they do its in Dekalb illinios they have distribution center there I pretty sure xrf drops a trailer there everyday
A lot of trucking companies do that so does that make then LTL too.
Then why did Schneider get this award back in 2007 http://www.ccjdigital.com/schneider-national-three-peats-kohls-customer-service-award/
I know if you look close at a Harley Davidson Tractor near the area of the side compartment door it reads " operated by Schneider National"
just because the truck has the company name on it does mean they own a their own trucking fleet.
Here is one way to check: https://csa.fmcsa.dot.gov/ all fleets have to have a DOT number even private carriers. just type in the DOT number and the truth will be told. Wal-Mart's is 63585 and ours is 241829 for the US and Canada is 838885
OK here's what you want to hear your right have a great day
Sorry but your wrong.
Ok your right too
Harley Davidson had their own fleet at one time.
They were Teamsters and delivered to the dealers door.
Trans-Con would haul the overflow.
Do you really think this is the only place that offers a bonus cm on get real this is the only place that offers a bonus like we got its a joke doesn't even equal a pay check
