They were UModel Macks, an offshoot of the DM Macks which were popular in construction because of the good visibility on the drivers side, made them excellent for laying blacktop building the Interstates.

Drove ‘em doing household/office moves in STL in the early 80’s. 5 speed Maxidyne.

Ours had 6v92s, 9 or 10 spd, don't recall which, didn't have to wait on shifting.

I remember those days, I could pass a Big R anytime I caught him, that is, if he was parked in the rest area!

When I was a kid I thought these was cool looking trucks on the road . Later on I realized they probably wasn't that cool once firmly in the business. Hell I seen radio boxes bigger than the cab.
