Ever notice how things are so much more civil when certain instigators aren't participating in a thread ? One thread has these people in it and looks one way. Other threads don't and look different. Huh.

Been that way a long time hollywoodz. It’s just gone nuts this time because trump doesn’t shy away from a fight like bush. W thought it beneath the office of president to act like trump does with the press. At times I agree, but other times there needs to be a fight due to the leftist nature of mainstream media. People portray trump is ⓇⒶⒸⒾⓈⓉ and facist because he doesn’t play along with the pc media. I like his honesty. It’s one reason I voted for him. I know you all think he’s a liar who wants to rule like ಠ▄ಠ, but I don’t. Yes he probably has lied about some things, but who hasn’t? Should we persecute the guy because he has an occasional flaw? He calls the press fake and I agree and have thought that way for 25 years. It’s not so much what event they report, but what is left out in the reporting and the spin they put out.

I agree that we have a fundamental disagreement over politics. We are both over 40 and so are at the point in life where the questioning of beliefs is done. Older people spend their time defending what they already believe. We will not change each other’s opinion, however it has been refreshing to speak with someone who actually explains the why instead of getting angry and lashing out. Thank you for your civility.

We'll just agree to disagree on this. Maybe when things calm down, we can have a discussion off this thread. I don't see what you see, and I'm sure the reverse is true.

Allow me to return the compliment. It's rare that I lash out or use a poor choice of words. When it happens, I stand corrected and apologize. I look at every interaction with another person as an opportunity to learn something new. Politics aside, I think it's imperative to read between the lines when exposed to media of any kind. I listen to Sirius XM Progress, channel 127 and I am tuned to it because they affirm what I already believe. I'm sure the same is true for you in reverse. However, I will tune in to conservative broadcasts from time to time, just for a different point of view. Then, I try to use what little intelligence and common sense that I have left to try to decipher what is fact and what is fiction. One thing is irrefutable...silencing the media because they criticize you undermines the foundation of a democracy. A righteous man doesn't fear criticism or investigation because he knows that truth and decency are on his side.

You might be waiting a while- I've been busy lately, and banging out a giant post over DOA legislation is going to be really low on my priority list.

You won't have to read it. Let me summarize. There are politicians out there who are great friends to labor. They are not all the same. That was my only point.

Hired several here at my barn recently. We had two quit cause they refused to do linehaul, one canned cause he refused to do what he was told to do, a 21 year vet gave management a week and he’ll be done. He told them the company is a shell of what it once was when he hired on as far as benefits and everything else goes Bottom line... my barn is loosing ground concerning staffing up here with drivers instead of gaining.

I wish I applied there 14 years ago instead of where I did! More miles and I’d be what, number four linehaul?
We are holding steady with staffing. Need one more FOS, couple drivers and dock workers.

Hired 2 one they let go part time the other quit in 4 weeks. We were to have 2 come in for road test but never showed and that's not the first time that's happened

I remember 14yrs ago being told "driver were a dime a dozen". I didn't work here at that time but heard it from a few current and former CCX drivers
 
Just over 2yrs ago my district HR manger told me that if you leave we are not taking you back. Well funny how thing change that HR manger was fired and now we are calling everyone that quit or was fired and begging for them to come back. I also hear this is also being done on the with the sales people they fired back then. XPO came into this world with a big chip on it's shoulder saying it was going to change the LTL world but in 2yrs we see who changed.

We heard the same thing . Hell up to a couple years ago ( xpo included)I remember hearing them telling other drivers on a regular basis if you don’t like it here there’s the door. Now their begging those same guys to come back.

I got hired in 94’ and just became first on the list as of last December. It only took me nearly 24 years to arrive. Maybe instead of retiring in two years I’ll work for four more years to enjoy my status as number one and to have my seven weeks vacation for those years.
