We don’t want to pay you more so we want to have you work more hours cause we don’t pay enough to recruit more drivers and now you can have the allusion of you making more money. Bulshit the 34hr rule is to prevent the company from over working employees.

local 299 (DE) union leadership signed onto this without even talking to us, we have a grievance and a petition with over 140 signatures. they leased 2 straight trks and theyre using the three holland trks, they put dock to driver trainees and made it so they come in at 530 and walk around the dock for a few hrs and wait until their freight is loaded (not all straight trk freight, because we dont have that much straight trk freight) which pushes senior drivers onto the dock to wait until their loads are ready. i have been told that they also use these guys to deliver amazon freight to usps, which requires alot of sitting around...of course we cannot bid on these positions.

we had our ba come in and i wasnt in the room but from what i have heard the unions position on this is that it is temporary (unless they determine it isnt) and to pound sand.

Tell your BA that Michigan is a right to work state and you will opt out of paying dues because of this. It will only be temporary until such time the Union proves to you and your brothers that they work for you.
