$2 billion Canadian transportation group expands LTL, expedited reach

TransForce's acquisition of a cross-border, expedited less-than-truckload carrier expands the Canadian trucking giant's reach further into the U.S.

The acquisition of Ontario-based Quik X Transportation comes after TransForce extended its footprint into the U.S. by buying same-day specialist Dynamex last December.

Quik X Transportation, an almost $200 million company, has a network of 17 terminals in Canada and the U.S., with more than 600 employees. Terms of the transaction, expected to close near the end of the year, were not released.

TransForce increased its operating profit 34 percent year-over-year in the third quarter to about $56 million and total revenue 49 percent to about $733 million....................
