Truck Crashes Into Overpass On Bishop Ford

Thats going to be some insurance claim.
I live in Rochester NY the home of the Eastman Kodak Company.
Makers of film, and now digital cameras.
They have a large complex with many buildings on sight.
They had a truck driver moving trailers from their trailer yards to the buildings in their complex.
Their company Road passes under three bridges that are Rochester city streets.
Well this young driver was showing up his long time co-workers by making a lot of moves.
he was driving a yard horse with a hydraulic fith wheel.
Well in his haste to do such a good job,he forgot to lower his fith wheel, and rammed one of these bridges.
It took over 2 years, and thousands of dollars to rebuild that bridge.
Needless to say that was this young mans last day on the job.

So I can relate to this accident very well.

I would hope that if I were driving along behind a dumptruck and the bed started going up....I'd have since enough to BACK OFF! I REALLY would like to know who was driving that car.

Have heard that the bridge is a total loss .
I would not want to be that guy !

Yeah, it sure as heck is a total loss. I went through there last night.
They removed the first beam and modulators. and about a 12 wide section of bridge deck. From the first reports Friday, the guy in the car did notice the box going up, and managed to get stopped, just in the nick of time. Traffic in that area runs 65 to 70 mph, so if you ask me he did a fine job. He and his son walked away. The semi driver was treated for minor injuries and released.
The bridge was pronounced dead on the scene.
