Is any location getting their equipment washed still ? We've been told it's been suspended due to cost cutting . Just wondering if it's true anywhere else? I think we have had 2 washing since Xpo bought us , we're beginning to look like the gypsies of the ltl carriers.

We use to have a vender come out regularly when we were Con-way. Maybe once they figure the business out it will resume :hysterical:

We also have a drive through truck wash, but it is only open sporadically at best. We do have a vendor that pressure washes all equipment once a month. The only difference is the company used to pay a driver ot to come in on Saturday and hostle to pull all the trailers away from the dock (CCX days), now the vendor does the best they can with stuff where it sits.

Get washed 4 times a year at my barn. Now I know why Conway's OR was always in the 90s we too would pay a gut OT for wash day. We would pull the trailers away from the dock on Friday night and someone would come in and push them back on Saturday evening. Some guys made a day of it and did it for 8hrs. What's funny is the first 2 guys in on Monday morning we both drivers but yet we would pay someone OT. Now no one come in and they do what they can were the stuff is parked.

Crossed my mind last winter when passing a shiny clean UPS truck. Why would I trust MY freight to a company that doesn't take care of THEIR equipment.

I don't know what XPO you work for, but I make fantastic money for what I do and I've never been in dirty equipment. I've worked for companies that have dirty equipment and Low pay and believe me this is not one of those companies.

If you don’t have the equipment (hose, brush, bucket and soap) I bet your tm would be wiling to get it for you. Most places I’ve been to have what you need to keep tractors clean inside and out. I don’t get hassled for a long hook time to wash my tractor. Trailers I can’t speak to.
