When I started doing road work on breakdowns many years ago drivers would change lanes when they approached a parked rig. As time went on they not only would not change lanes but many will get very close to the parked rig. I have seen some intentionally hit the safety triangle reflectors behind the parked rig. Police officers have been hit & killed while parked on the road shoulder with their lights on. The road has become a dangerous place to make a living.
