Seems the best place for this discussion is on The Union/Non-Union forums. While UPS (small package) is union, UPS Freight is not. Parts of UPS are union, parts are not. Parts of Fedex are union (pilots), parts are not and union discussion is not allowed on the Fedex Freight forum. There shoud be equal treatment on the UPS Freight forum. Plenty of room to discuss pro/con on The Union/Non-Union forums. JMHO, of course.

It use to be that way but I think FedEx has the upper rule here. Has more to gain if UPSF goes union. Just my opinion...

Wrong... companies that are owned by union companies can have union discussion in them

Let the staff here at Truckingboards handle the task of rule enforcement and you enjoy the forums and avoid discussions that don't suit your taste or topic of discussion you wish to engage in.

Hold my pickle, and I'll hold your lettuce.
Union talk will not upset us.
All we ask is that you let us follow the rules.

Trucking booooarrrds, have it Jeff's way
Trucking booooarrrds, have it Jeff's way

Without any authority,or rules, you have a free for all.

Anything worth while has to have a sense of order.

If you own your own business you can do as you wish.

But if you work for some one else you have to answer to authority.

We all came to this message board knowing we had to follow the rules to post our feelings about our trade.
That about says it all.
Case closed,it works for me.

Super Sized Union talk!

Ahhhh that would explain it...... One of the biggest Union companies. if not the biggest Union company. That explains why the Union talk here seems to be "SUPER SIZED." :smilie_132:

a contract helps prevent both sides from breaking the rules.

It 's funny how most people don't understand this . The company ( UPS ) uses the contract to their advantage just as much as the Teamsters .
For instance there was air language , for part-time delivery drivers , put in our contracts back in the 70's . That's before we owned any planes ! They always have a plan and are always thinking ahead .

Thats a very good point that has not been discussed before.
I think there are a lot of guys that don't realize that a contract is a 2 way street. The union may get language they want but the companies do also.

Oh they'll try still. Its up to the members not to let them get away with it.

You know it easier to beleive in the EVIL EMPIRE. When they don't pay ya. When the company keeps giving the checks they have to have all our interests at the forefront of every thought!!!!!!
