I certainly wouldn't be excited about working for a militant style company,I'm kinda old for that b.s.. but if it kept retirees from pension pay cuts and YRC were debt free I think we would all feel better about the security of our jobs.IMO it would be a blessing for all.
Buster Brown don't want you old farts, they would need to add walkers and wheel chairs to their fleet.
Every customer would have to be handicapped accessible!

ups gets paid 70 cents a mile and yrc gets paid 54 cents a mile,so I give it a big maybe.
To the best of my knowledge the only UPS drivers who get paid mileage are teams running sleepers. All other UPS trailer drivers (Feeders) are paid hourly.
He may have been referring to UPS Freight who gets paid by the mile....I had also heard once that feeder drivers who run over 500 miles get mileage. Not sure on that though.
ups could buy yrcw just to stop some other company from buying us!!! they could run under the yrcw brand names and not change anything. Its not like ups freight is part of master freight contract ...we could be the JV team and haul for 54 cents a mile instead of 70 cents!
Btw we make 72cpm and $28.65 per hour at UPGF

If you see a feeder driving slow that run is by the hour. If they blowing by everyone thats by the miles that's how you can tell.
No one in their right mind would buy a company that is in debt for 1 billion and then assume 10 billion or more in pension liabilities. They would wait for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, become a stalking horse bidder and then buy it all for fractions of a penny and not have to worry about pension issues or debt. Keep only profitable locations open and let the other properties go to auction. Even without the 2 hurricanes, YRC has already said its tonnage is flat so dont look for that bonus next year add in all the accidents and fatalities that have been happening.
I totally agree no one will assume pension liabilities,that would be foolish and something would be worked out contractually beforehand .(if union allows)
As far as the debt though if someone paid 2 billion for company there would be no debt and they would be getting a steal.
We may never go into bankruptcy so if someone were interested I don't think they would wait.
UPS does not want YRC, neither does anybody else, even Stevie Wonder can see it's losing proposition.
There's to many other profitable ltl's out there that could be had for the right price. Remember Watkins, American Freightways and Viking. That's just this millennium by one company.
Yrc does not want YRC!
