YRCW lost so many drivers to UPS they've starting doing what they do best. Lying to employees. YRC drivers said management is telling them the UPS hiring is only temp, that ppl who jumped ship are gonna be laid off just to try to scare them to stay. Temporary was the concessions yrcw said they needed and got not the 60mil UPS invested in more tractors and trailers system wide. **** you Welch, Ware, Pierson and Zollars you created the mess your in, if I were you I'd worry about getting your equipment road worthy and not what UPS is doing. Guys with 15+ years leave for a reason. 75% of the equipment on the road is in better shape then YRCWs and 15% of the 25% are rail and garbage haulers.

When I get a call from a 24 year man getting ready to leave....telling me that 7 have left since we last talked. That was just 3 months ago. Things are not headed in the right direction...when you start losing your top men....you had better look at what you are doing wrong.!

I like my job, management does not call or write me to tell me what the current hiring procedures are at other companies. But as soon as I get that call, i will post what they say so you can let me know if it's a lie or not.

A Dayton driver was in our break room and told us one of his buddies quit Holland (along with several others) for a ups feeder job.He said he works 2 days per week most of the time.He has already went a week without work and is getting concerned.

Where is parcel hiring full time?

Working 2 days at UPS as a feeder driver pays more then a full week at YRCW. Even if it didn't I'd make it work cause making $30+ hr .72cpm sounds better then .52cpm.
Plus a full pension, a ups 401k, 15% discount on stock and best health benefits at no cost to us. Best equipment in the industry plus they just ordered a ton more new macks and KWs. 125 guys added to Hodgkins board since last Sept and adding more as they prepare to pull more off the rails and to handle the 1.5mil sqft. Amazon distribution center in Kenosha. Only regret I have is I didn't leave Helland sooner.

I have a brother in law that has been there for twenty plus years and he makes more money than me and has better benefits than me and I would never consider working there in a million years. For twenty plus years big brother has been leaning over his shoulder telling him how and what to do, I think they even have a memo out on how to open your fly to take a leak. No call me old fashioned, but I am a I'll get there when I get there kind of guy and no amount of money is worth having to slow down and speed up every night afraid that I might not pull in the driveway during my "window" or else. Hey, different strokes for different folks, if that works for some guys that's great! It's just not my cup of tea! I guess I am the type of guy that is happy with my measly old 85K a year and will try and put fifty cents a week in a coffee can on the refrigerator and if I run out of money during retirement, I'll just go out in the woods and shoot something to keep me going a couple days. So at work tonight I hope all you buster brown boys have a Great night, I will chuckle when one of you is going 70 and another is going 50, and just remember to use the correct number of sheets of toilet paper when you wipe your ass, because big brother is watching you......always! :D

Well I don't know where he works but I've never experienced that, I'm told just work safe and if your delayed call dispatch. Just about every week they give free lunch or breakfast for safety achievements. They run a tight ship as far as scheduling but it gives everyone ample time to get job done. So I'll take my measly 81 cents per mile and my $30th and my 100% pension my 401k and 15% discounted stock not 15% discounted pay and give them a honest day everyday.

Brown has mileage runs too. If anyone is speeding they're running by mile.
But what i chuckle about is when you get paid by mile (poorly) with the slowest trucks on the road to do it with.

I always "heard" through other people how UPS was such a tough company to work for etc. etc......lemme tell ya.....as usual the hype doesn't come close to the truth. Ask any Yrc/Holland driver that went to feeders at UPS if they would rather go back to Yrc and they will laugh pretty hard at that. Sorry but you have no idea how much better it can be at another company until your actually there yourself. I can tell you for certain workin for Brown is so much better than being at Yrc/Holland......even starting off at the bottom!

If it is so great, why don't you go on the brown board and hang out with your brown buddies? Brown buddies, that's kind of funny sounding!
You must miss working for this terrible company if you have to hang out on our board instead of the company you work for? Just asking?

I do hang out at the "brown boards" my man. I do still have friends at Holland and care about what happens to them. I come on here to give my former co-workers info. based on real hands on experience at another company....not just based on what I "heard". I think alot of the people at Holland deserve better than what their getting.....I'm just letting them know that "much better" is def. out there.

Hollandman73 I like you wish the best for my fellow union brothers at Holland. I have some great memories and stories from my 18+years and made life long friends and like you just want to let them know there is much better out there. But 5tolls wouldn't understand that if you read some of his previous post it's all I don't care as long as I get MY miles and MY check clears and I get what I want. Like I always said when I was at Holland you can spot a YES vote a million miles away by just listening to them. Lol

don't forget About his truck not going fast enough to pass other holland trucks.I myself was a 20 plus year holland man and never felt better walking out of that dump after all the doom and gloom and being treated like a piece of trash for so long.they will continue to give them anything they want to keep the doors open and eventually one day they will come in and it will be all locked up.

You got that right PIMP! LOL! All the great stories from over the years.....wish we had camera phones back in the day to record some of that stuff! One of my favorites was WH TM Scott B. showing all the city drivers a "safety video" that turned out to be a gay porno instead! The look on his face was priceless! Haha......he told the stewards he was gonna call the FBI.....rigggghhht.
