It's best to max out your before tax contrubutions first. then if you want to add more, you can add after tax. One good benefit of after tax contributions is if you need to take out money there are no penalties and only taxes if you made a profit and take more than your contribution total.
Ok, I will just leave it the way it is then, thank you.

Has anyone inquired about the AFLAC cancer policy? We got our forms in the mail yesterday. For family coverage it will run about $45 per month.

insurance

right now we have a copay and 100% paid after that copay. on the new one were gonna get bills in the mail...so lets go back to the coverage we had 20 years ago.. and why are we going from 15000 employees to 100000 employees on this plan and it's not overall better than we have? think about it, open your mind ./..just a little

I thought we all had the same plan system wide. You think yours is not any better. You must have a different plan than we have on the west coast. Either that or you should of read it a whole lot better.:duh:

No I 'm thinking it is region by region. There are like four listed and I think it just matters where you are.

Hey Skeeter
I am getting the similar coverage as we have currently. Blue Cross Blue Shield. Dental, Vision,Long term disability. The coverage for the medical has improved. Dental coverage looks similar, the vision has improved. "PLUS" I have added more life insurance to me and the wife and kids, and I have added AD&D for me which I don't have currently. I have added legal as well. I am getting all of this at half of the cost that I am currently paying. $30 back in my back pocket each week. I am thinking about taking that money and upping my 401k another couple of a percent which will increase my UPS stock match as well.... isn't life grand.
I think the Northeast Blue cross plan is looking great...I'm also saving money and have improved life insurance all the way around...And yes life is great.......

MrIssue the only co-pay you and I should have are the following. Doctor's office co-pay is $15 it was $20. Specialist co-pay is $30 it was $40. They are pretty big improvements from what we used to have. There are also "Maximum out of pocket expenses" With our current insurance we all have $1500 Maximum out of pocket expenses. with the new plan you have a "CHOICE" to keep that at $1500 or change it to $1000 Maximum out of pocket expenses. Either way after you meet your Maximum out of pocket expenses, which would take a very major visit to the hospital before you will have to worry about paying that expense, your coverage will escalate to 100% covered.

In my opinion 20 years ago our insurance wasn't even close to what we have now. I believe it is a lot better.

You are right about the 15,000 employees. But the other number is somewhere around 250,000 if my memory serves me correct. Which is why our coverage has improved here, and it has allowed UPS to offer a lot more "Choice" coverage's in other areas.

I hope this helps you. :smilie_132:

We received our cards for our dental plan in the mail today and also received a confirmation letter from UPS regarding verification of dependants. Has anyone received their medical card yet? All of this is supposed to take effect on 7/1.
