What I haven't seen here is anything pertaining to the process around the vote. Personally, a freeze is a pain, but its something that I can deal with.

What I really have a problem with is the way I hear the vote is going to be handled. Are we being setup? I may be mistaken (if I am please set me right) but my steward said that the vote was going to be tallied as a company whole and not individual terminals and that a negative vote was being considered a strike vote. I see at least 2 problems here.

Most terminals have about 3 years left on their contracts thus giving us a contractually agreed to compensation package. If individual terminals voted to turn the concession down, MS has it at his discretion to shut them down. This would technically be a "lock out", but if the vote its considered a strike vote 2 things happen. First, it takes a 2/3 super-majority to OK a strike and second, even if we had that super-majority it then is officially a strike rather than a lock out making us ineligible for unemployment compensation, which with a lock out we would be.

Does anyone else here smell collusion? If so, we need to act quickly to expose the rats, both company and union if necessary. Unions are supposed to be democracy in the workplace and all I've seen so far is a bunch of medieval feudalism.

O.K the 2 V.P are on tour speaking abut the offer. They were up Wednesday & pushing it. What they saying if we take the offer the company should be back in the black within a year or so. I don't think MS is trying to close or sell the company I think he a fighter and will be there at the end. I also think we should stand behind him & help him make work. I also hear he buying 100 or 200 trls not sure on the amount be he trying to reinvest in the company. I been here for over 20 years & I have faith in MS I take him for is word.

I dont want to meddle, but if the freeze will allow the company to be in the black in a year, then why freeze the wages for three years......Just asking folks

People look around, the dock is packed no room to even move around, the trucks are going out with 15 to 20 stops on almost all peddels. we are hiring people left and right. money is being made and a lot of it. please don't be fooled to think for one minute that this company is in financial distress, he does not need a giveback he just want's to take advantage of the on going YRC saga. all i'm gonna say is STAND TALL and remember if you vote YES the money you make now will be the SAME money in 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Tom Connery came around saying if we voted no we would have to strike. I asked my stewart why? we have a contract in force, we are being asked to change it, if we say no thanks, we'll keep what we've got, the contract remains in force. He checked into it and found that Conigliaro got permission from IAM National to reopen the contract for renegotiation because NEMF was having trouble. Why the head of our union would do this and whose interests does it serve is a different discussion.

What is IMPORTANT is we are voting on a new contract, WOULDN'T IT BE NICE IF WE KNEW WHAT IT SAID. Supposedly Union Reps are coming around next week, lets find out what we are voting for.

NEWS FLASH.....NEMF..CARES ABOUT THEMSLEVES ..ITS A PRIVATEY OWNED COMPANY...YOU CANNOT EVEN CHECK IF WHAT THEY SAY IS THE TRUTH..AT LEAST YRC HAS TO SHOW THEIR BOOKS!!!!..AND ANOTHER NEWS FLASH THE UNION IS IN THEIR BACK POCKET...from wht i heard....check on the board members and you'll see nemf employees there.......mr. connery no doubt is shakin his head for involving himslf in this mess...but he followed the money ..now he's a puppet like the rest..he done sold his soul to the devil :buttkisser:...

I say to all you who want to vote no - Do the rest of us a favor vote Yes so we can continue to work and then you can quit for the better job out there that you are obviously missing out on and feel your entitled to.

Didap - If you feel that way about out management then grow some balls and call them and tell them how you feel

This situation is like buying a GM car 2 years ago, getting a payment of 350 bucks a month, then when the auto maker gets into trouble they feel it's ok to bump your payment to 375. This is not what you signed up for and now because of someone's incompetence (piss poor management) YOU should have to pay for it. :nono:
