Yesterday at Local 745 (Dallas Texas) Union meeting members were "called out" for wearing Vote No in 2019 T-shirts. The leadership ask rhetorically why you would promote a No vote when we have not even seen the Company's proposal? Might be the best thing ever. Already this leadership is trying to stop any opposition to the contract in 2019. Everyone knows if by some wild miracle YRC puts forth a great contract we can always step back. But what if by some chance the proposal is not so great? If we have not prepared for a fight, if we have not shown the Company that we are ready to fight for a good contract, we are going to get the same thing we got last time.

    It's their mentality.
    Just wear the shirt.
They are supposed to work for us.
    Not us workin for them.

Seems a little premature to vote either way. I will be waiting to see the offer.

There is no vote at all. That is not the question. The question is should we prepare just in case the offer is not acceptable? If you wait till there is an offer to vote on it will be to late. There might be some value in sending a message to the Company now. They will be watching to see what kinda of response they can expect.

Point is that Member's need to start now to get ready to STRIKE or SHUT-ER-DOWN , when they come with the 2019 B.S. offer , we have to be ready to fight back in 2019 , don't be a sheep any more, -15% enough is enough !:6788:

Same morons that wore "snitches get stitches" shirts. If that group spent the same amount of time focusing on the customer as they do screwing the company we wouldn't be losing jobs. God Bless the the Red Shirts.

Absolutely. Even the best negotiator (and trust me, we will not have the best negotiator if Hoffa's retaliation against O'Brien is any indication) has zero power without a movement against concessions among the members. Leaders who truly want a better contract would be encouraging early vote no sentiment, not shutting it down. What leverage do they have without a membership ready to fight? Absolutely none.

If and I say IF, they , meaning the Union, decides that an extension of the present MOU without a formal contract negotiations is acceptable, I predict a major reduction in payment of union dues.

The same leverage we have with leadership that isn't ready and willing to fight.
Sorry to say it but I feel all of us getting shafted by Jimmy the Great and his wacky lackies. We saw what he did to UPS in KY and to the formerly strong group of freight workers in Chicago area. ABF in '18 will give you a sneak preview at what you can expect at YRC. :2437:

In other words we won't have a say in the matter and it doesn't look good.
All summed up in one sentence.
    We are just onlookers.
Been that way for eight years. Why change it now?
