You need to get some seniority first if you want weekends off if your a road driver! Either that or get a city job some where.

I hear Reed is closing down some terminals in the system... I have a friend that worked at one of them in Louisiana and they closed that one. I worked out of that terminal for 9 1/2 years and left because of one of Reed's "College Boy" TM's..Seems like Reed is doing what he wants to people's livelihoods... Mack would have never done this... Cooper use to be one of the best...

I left aaa cooper after 10 years to go to Abf. I had 3 weeks vacation. Insurance is basically non existent and it is horribly micro managed. The only good thing about cooper is weekends off. Everything else is horrible. Night and day different between aaa cooper and Abf.

    I

Every job is a trade off. If being off on weekends & driving a fast truck is a priority in life then ABF is not for you. I compare ABF to the dairy business. If you have a dairy you HAVE to milk cows everyday. ABF runs 24/7 & most people who work there usually work some nights & weekends. The freight business is not always pleasant. You don't have to be crazy to be in freight but it sure helps.

Can you bump into the city? I know in the Ohio and Michigan conference you can.

Any idea why ABF is so slow? I know it is fall, but it would appear everyone else has more freight than they know what to do with, and I read that guys are being left at home and they are only looking for casual help.
