Really ? That is interesting news. It's been ho-hum here.
They did not own a trucking company before they bought that one in Europe, Fact. Now they own 2. They were asset light, now they are a player in the LTL world, Fact.
It would be a first for me to see something like that. How much rail do you think he will use ?
But I didn't ask about that. I want to know about hiring through the winter.
Its a spigot that has yet to be turned on. Remember the posts when the news first came out about them dropping huge hits of freight on certain terminals? All of that was true, now they own the place and the spigot is going to get turned on.
We are hiring at my place. Dock and drivers.
I got my calendar cleared and my log book ready to go. Where do I get my ridiculous amounts of OT ?
That will likely be different from place to place. Freight flows will change. Lanes will change.
I could not say but the train can't deliver freight, only trucks can. Trains are not going to move freight around the country like we can. I have no doubt that trains will be a piece of what we do now but all that really means is we get to handle freight that we did not in the past.
Agreed. I am way out west, closer to the ports on the west coast. All of that freight is going to flow through our network.
We all get that. Trucks handle the last mile. But how much container freight ? How much rail use instead of line haul ? Just curiosities.
2nd largest , ok then who is the largest ?? yrc or abf or fed ex or 2 men & a truck ??
FedEx Freight. By a bunch.
Popular Bluff Mo. Check that
Not anymore. XPO is now XPF. But the company that bought us..... what is a " XPO " ?
All that freight is what XPO already has, rail, intermodal etc. Now we get a piece of that action. It does not mean less work for us, it means more. More deliveries more linehaul more dock work "hopefully for dockworkers because we won't be able to spare a driver" All of the action that XPO is into is going flow through our network in some way shape or form.
Read the company used to be called Express One and when they went public the stock ticker was XPO so they changed the name.
I took tonight off and found out that they sent five of us to Richmond when it's normally one. Waiting to hear why that lane is so heavy inbound.
Well, we will see if what you say is true or not. You seem to be speaking with " A MATTER OF FACT KNOWLEDGE" and I don't see how that can be since you just got bought. Once again, I like a positive attitude but I disagree that you know for sure any of this is true. It is a difference of opinions between you and I on how buyouts play out. Nothing you said is backed up by numbers or actual actions because it just happened.
Agreed. I am just reasoning and thinking about things that I have heard and read. I don't know for sure but I think that I am thinking right about this. I am definitely keeping a positive attitude and feeling very hopeful.
