The company pays me to perform a service for them, I pay my bills. With the driver shortage, they need you more than you need them. We are only as good as our next pick up or delivery, without the driver's to cover it, we lose. They need to start taking drivers concerns seriously instead of treating drivers like a disposable asset.

Apparently you didn't have enough proof I had no problems it worked like a charm when I had to do it I couldn't have asked for them to have been anymore understanding and helpful.The "open door" is misleading. If you use it, be prepared for consequences.
The open door policy is just an illusion. Believe me. And get plenty of documentation. Journals, recorded conversations, witnesses...more is better. And, be prepared to leave the company in order for them to pay any attention to you.
I got all my documentation, and presented it to HR. They tried to dodge and wiggle in order to stifle me. Then they changed my run and start time. More documentation.
Then I resigned and now they wanted to address the issue. I just let my lawyer handle things from there. Unfortunately, Saia is its own worst enemy. Could they improve or change? You bet. Is it a bad workplace, overall? Probably not. It's a stepping stone place. Saia will do fine, but never achieve greatness under the status quo.
