Estes | Were Hiring

Shifty, been with fedex for awhile, estes is hiring in my area, what is the story with your company? Good to work for?

017 isn't holding freight. Its usually late Monday when my teammate and I get out. Once we do we get good miles and hardly sit unless we go past Dallas, seems to be no eastbound freight

i like it but i always liked to stick my fingers in the fan. waited alot this week for about 25 hours passed on my 10s but that happens on the extra board.

You and I both. I waited 23 hours at one place and spent a day and a half at the house but still managed to do ok

With fuel prices going up be ready for the sitting around waiting, no running emptys, you Linehaul guys are our greatest expense, we will get those Utility guys out first, and god forbid they start letting some go again, because if you were around for the last time the fuel went up and the economy went in the tank well us Linehaul guys were the first to go!! Just remember Driver it don't matter how many years you have at this company it matters what you do!!

With Estes, do truck drivers actually drive trucks or work the dock? Are there day runs instead of working nights? For new hires without 20 yrs at the company? How is the pay? Looking for something better never hurts!!!!!

Sounds like you're "On the fence(your avatar)".......

So is anyone hearing anything about increased bill counts or projections for the future ? Just came off the employment site, and 34 terminals are looking for P@D,40 terminals are looking for L/H, and 45 terminals are looking for utility drivers. These could be mutiple positions, so are they seeing increased business, or are they stocking up xtra drivers, to fill in for vacations this year ?

We are swamped. Nearly 3500 miles last week and only remember about 200 empty.

LOL, I thought I was the only one, beer in the AM taste really good when on night line haul..LOL, oh heck!

I've never had a problem drinking a beer or two or three before breakfast. I always wait until after 12 pm on Sunday though because of a guilty conscience I have.

The best layover run I ever had was Reno. Take the shuttle bus to the casino, have a few free beers with your coupons, and maybe some adult entertainment on the tables. Then run back to the hotel for your afternoon nap. Those were the days. TP
