Gee Corn, you must work at my center. This happens every day...handbook means nothing and scm makes them up.
 
if a redshirt writs you up for anything at all. you have the full power of management. human resources, and legal, all coming against YOU in this company. with nobody in your corner or on your side to help you. I know for a fact that they will and have lied against drivers to make their case. and nothing will be done about that.

I know of one instance where a driver caught a ops manager in a lie had the phone records to prove he lied. They still found a way to fire the driver an manager that lied NOTHING HAPPENED TO HIM!! Now that's why my signature is going on a card!!
 
They over reached with micro managing every little thing. You are guilty until proven innocent . And they forgot who got them here. They have absolutely zero respect for their work force. Every trucking company has to have rules, and law and order, I perfectly respect and understand that. But they have crossed the line into mind abuse. They don't listen to or respect anything we have to say. Why do you think we didn't have a Gallop Poll this year? They know, and that's what offends me the most, they know what's going on and they couldn't care less. And their GREED turns my stomach. In my barn we haven't gotten a total of a penny raise in 5 years, but the so called upper mgmt gets millions of dollars in bonus's every year to do nothing more than screw my company up more and more.????? Let's unite drivers and throw something back at these corporate leviathan's.

the next time you see your scm and your regional hr specialist having a conversation and they are both smiling and giggling at one another; know this, it is not because they are are talking about something that is going to be good for anybody.
Usually it is because they are cooking up their story together how they want to screw somebody over because that is how they tickle their funny bone to do so.
so sad but so true but it goes on every day around this place.
 
I'm in the teamsters. After reading your post, your main concerns you want are all covered with a union contract. We pay nothing for our insurance or pension. Most all of the union carriers are on a sightly different contract, a contract that you get to vote on. Some union carriers or in the union pension plan, some have a 401K. Don't like it, vote against it. I don't have any idea what you pay for your insurance, but $52.00 a month I pay for union dues is well worth the price for our insurance, pension, work rules and for JOB PROTECTION. We are entitled to union representation from our steward or B.A. when every we should get called on the carpet in which at YRC that rarely ever happens. Lying, stealing, multiple wrecks or just to lazy to go to work are the top reasons for some one to get fired. Other than lying or stealing we get multiple chances to improve. Please don't think that you would get a contact like we have at YRC as for as the give back pay is concerned, remember you get a vote. What you do is all up to you, just trying to give some tidbit of insight on your discussions. Good luck with whatever choice you make, the decision is no ones but yours.
 
Just for the record, give backs otherwise known as concessions are not automatic parts of a contract.

As far as I know, they are generally associated with companies that are/were struggling to stay afloat. That was NOT the case with UPS Freight, nor would it be the case with FedEx Freight.
 
Yet according to the YRC, ABF and UPSF folks it doesn't get enforced. Check out their threads....Oops, that would be a problem for you...

I don't have any problem with rules getting enforced where I am from. Its up to the members to see that rules get enforced. I always get a printed copy of the contract. If you allow management to walk all over you regarding rules.........they will. Show them the rules you are standing up for in the contract and it usually gets straightened out. If not, the BA is at the terminal the next day. Its like anything else, let them walk all over you and they will. Enforce the contract and you win.

The only rules we have at FedEx Freight are changed anytime management wants. I was told once we are not concerned with policy we are concerned with moving freight. But if you don't follow policy whoa be unto you.

At FedEx if management screws up and passes you on a run you get a my bad from a dispatcher. You don't buckle your seat belt one time and say my bad. They hand you a piece of paper and say I need you to sign this critical write-up!!

Benefits & pay

Side note lunehaul and city shouldn't share bidding, and we should beable to bid on single days or partial weeks for vacations.
Next to impossible to get time off besides vacation, call in and you are treated unfairly by redcoats.
 
All you do is bid a full week then when it comes around just take the one day Cancel the other four.

Seniority is not followed
Half the list on flex
Delayed raises
Bs attandence policy (days you get you aren't allowed to use)
Over kill safety policy (back door open isn't an accident)
To much grey area in point system for accidents
Real bid terms not just change them when they want
No reporting pay
Unfair distribution of overtime
Over the last five years we have been crammed with more rule and bs policies than in necessary.
Write ups and coaching a never leave your file no matter how old
Coaching sessions and other write ups can be dropped in our files without your knowledge
We are told by management we chose to work here we don't have to stay. The place I chose to work at is not what this place as turned into. Fxfe that hired me more than 10 years ago is not the same Fxfe that it has become today.
If we don't organize the company the longer you have been here the bigger the target on your back will be.

And don't forget the waterboarding! And yet you keep coming to work, instead of going to work at ABF, YRC or UPSF, all of which are hiring. So you love the union, yet not enough to go work a union job....strange....
