Why should I have to start over? The work place here changed. You may be a coward but I'm not. Many of us unlike you have spines and have decided we've been kicked enough. If you hate the union so much be sure to quit when we are proud members of the teamsters.

And don't forget the waterboarding! And yet you keep coming to work, instead of going to work at ABF, YRC or UPSF, all of which are hiring. So you love the union, yet not enough to go work a union job....strange....

Normal answer from a member of management. Over the years I've seen a lot of management come and go. Guess who out last who. Drivers. We will still be here when you are looking for your next job

OMG ST!! Why should we leave a company we have invested so many years in! Is it to much to ask to be treated like people and not indentured servants? Been her 20 yrs ST and I'm not walking away because management are jerks!! Union all the way here!!

Of course the work place changed. Thanks to congress de-regulating the trucking industry back in 1980. Teddy Kennedy did this to kill the unions. And that's what it's done. And if you have nothing but problems with the management, have you ever considered that maybe you're the problem? I avoid redshirts like the plague. I go to work, do my job and go home. In my barn, the only folks who have problems with management, are those that refuse to do their job, or that get in the redshirts faces constantly being defiant and refusing to obey policy. I sneak in and out and collect a check. For some reason, some folks beat their heads against the wall until they have a concussion and a bloody face.

And even if we did make the mistake of going union, you'd still whine and cry, because the union still couldn't fix what you claim is wrong. It would always be someone else's fault you're unhappy. It would always be someone else's fault that your work situation wasn't exactly what you want it to be. Some folks refuse to be happy.

As Abraham Lincoln once said: "People are as happy as they decide to be."

Silent redshirt is scared that the drivers are no longer afraid of him or his team of redshirts. It appears he says everything redshirts are instructed to say. Unfortunately silent redshirt you and your team pushed to far. I have no respect for you. You are even afraid to admit you're a red shirt. Bash away at us all you want. At the end of the day you and redshirts alike are the reason the union now has it's foot in the door. Maybe just maybe if the redshirts and bean counters respected the drivers and the fact we are people to you wouldn't have your tail between your legs hoping we yield to your ignorance.

I want somebody to speak for me because I can't speak for myself in a logical and reasonable manner.

I want somebody to negotiate what is fair for me because I can't quite possible decide that for myself.

I want the Union to fight for me when I have been wronged because there isn't any other organizations that will do so when I have truly been wronged.

I want all the people with more seniority than me to not have to work as hard for anything and have all the benefits of seniority.

Lastly, I love socialism and everything about it.

The company should be nourishing their employees well enough that they wouldn't even consider eating a **** sandwich just because they are hungry.

Another memo from management

Hahaha so we can individually negotiate things like the bs point system for attendance, or our pay? We can also individually insure that seniority will be followed. Lmao. Ok looks like to red shirts on here now trying to keep their strangle hold on us. Socialism... Lol so fedex freight is a country now? For the record it would be more like a dictatorship I it were.

Alright FedUp and Weirdo,

Did either one of you work for Viking? Remember how well you were treated? Remember how well the team functioned? Remember that you weren't compensated as well as many other LTL carriers' employees and that was okay because of your work environment? Now you aren't happy with the way FedEx treats you (perhaps rightfully so) and your solution is to move the needle even farther away form what Viking was like...

The union won't do anything other than collect money from your paycheck. The last 30 some years, that's all they've done. And yet you want to pay them...

Nope I was with AF it had it's problems at times but compared to now we were treated like kings.

I am bit slow weirdo, please explain to me how the union would enable you to negotiate for those things that you chose not to negotiate for currently?

Maybe I want my merit to trump seniority. Maybe I don't want slugs sticking around because they have been around while the hard working younger guy gets screwed because he's newer. Maybe I want the good runs to go to those who deserve it instead of the guy who has been around forever and a day.

Socialism isn't bound to a country, it's a theory or system of social organization.

I worked for AF. We were treated way better.

Well then you have something in common with those that worked at Viking.

Do you ever hear about what a great environment CF or PIE was? How about NW or APA, those were a happy bunch weren't they? How happy are all the folks at YRC? ABFS? UPSF? Yeah those are happy folks always talking about how great a work environment they have! How management treats them like valued employees! How they feel valued! Those environments are a spitting image of what you enjoyed, and long for, while at AF (not).

All you hear them talk about is their compensation. Are you willing to go even farther away from what AF/Viking was like in exchange for a few bucks? Or would you rather have what you had at AF back?

Either you are on the bottom of the board or you're a red shirt. I'm thinking red shirt. Those things I mentioned are all things negotiated in contracts. Part of the problem now is your so called merit system its nepotism and merit plays no role. If we were under contract our raises wouldn't have been delayed. If we were under contract they wouldn't be able to give overtime switches to ass kissing junior guys that the redshirts went to school with it would go be seniority. There is no one on one negotiating now. Under the current conditions it's like it or quit. Im glad your ok with someone losing their job if they grab a dolly wrong or if they only use 2 points of contact. How is there no progression on write ups which it seems everything critical and out the door now. How is it ok every little coaching or other write up is a permanent fixture in your file to be used against you for ever. How is it ok the company can hold a seatbelt ticket in your personal vehicle against you. How is it ok if you use a personal day that you earned you get written up.
Don't blame the drivers for any union activities within the company. Blame the management! You guys pushed us here.

At what point do you grow up? It's never your fault?
