SAIA | Why the massive turnover will continue.

I wonder if phone records were subpoenaed would they be able to distinguish if you were on a Bluetooth opposed to a handheld device.
No. They could not prove use of a blue Tooth device either way. You would have to be in the cab to know how it went down. CB Radios now have blue tooth in them for making a phone call. No head set needed. This is a he said she said problem. With a in cab camera pointed @ the driver it now becomes a the camera said. von.

Will there ever be a better environment at Saia for IBT? Where are they? I know you don’t like them rat, but I’m simply pointing out that when drivers are ticked off enough to quit then there ought to be the perfect breeding ground for IBT. One word: Hoffa

From reading the ABF forum Hoffa need military escort to go to the grocery store. So he can make it back home in piece.

Dropping like flies. The big wheels keep rolling and the mass exodus continues. On another note. Accidents are up at my terminal.

That’s because they’ve lowered their standards for quality in drivers because they are so desperate
And it really didn’t have to be this way. The Bluetooth policy created all of this. We were once the most driver friendly company in LTL. Now we are worst than XPO. At least they allow Bluetooths and CB’s. DriveCam has been totally mismanaged.

Forward thinking people think “outside the box” >>> Thinking outside the box helps companies succeed. For those that know me check my latest edition to thinking “outside the box” on Facebook. Good stuff!!!

Unfortunately SAIA has painted themselves in a corner with this Bluetooth policy. They can’t back down now because it would make them look weak. But make no mistake. This is the worst decision this company has ever made. Now they must live with the consequences of the mass exodus that will continue. No amount of money can save them. Get ready for a long summer guys.

But I thought more government regulations were needed to help and protect us; after all we just aren’t as smart. Another real life example that nanny state is a failure

My buddy says their hiring here straight out of school cause they can’t find no one in my area and have a boat load of freight to move. Hard to compete with black gold and a great job market here. You can find a good paying job with no camera. Word is out on the other big forum also. Everyone knows to get on with OD even straight out of CDL school. Heck I think one of the mega carriers took their cam out and realize it was gonna be a problem filling the seats. I think it was Swift. Take notes Saia.

It’s one thing to put safety first but if in that process you start to lose major accounts because of service related issues you will begin to have serious problems. One step forward but then two steps back is no way to run a growing company. The leadership needs to understand that there is a serious driver shortage and dumbing down their hiring process is really defeating the whole purpose of safety.
