Admit it Magoo, your only contact with minorities is the service employees that clean up around your condo. The rest of us are connected to minorities and reality.

By who's standard are they taking the happiness polls. Happiness is a state of mind and most humans are content as long as they have food and shelter.
How can someone from another country compare their happiness to ours or visa versa ,if they have never lived there?
We are having a bad day if the batteries go out in the t.v remote control while someone in Europe may be quite contempt in their 700 sq' flat with very limited air conditioning. Its all they know...We have it made...

Most rural areas experience less crime than Urban areas..... That isn't any reflection of a criminals political mindset...... I don't think that people who commit crimes care about what political party is currently "in charge".... The implication that only "democrats" commit crimes is simply being disingenuous... Crime doesn't have any color associated with it other than green perhaps...

Every year, the World Happiness Index surveys numerous people from various countries around the world in search of, as the name implies, which country has the happiest population.

This year the winner is Denmark, followed by Switzerland, Iceland, and Norway.....and guess where the U.S placed this year???.. Scroll for it.....

    .............

    ...............

    The US ranked 13th.

Happiness may be a state of mind.....but I disagree with your statement that most humans are content as long as they have food and shelter..... You could then say that refugees living in camps are content because they have food and shelter...... There is more to being happy than just having food and shleter....

They aren't comparing their "happiness" to ours...... They are polling people in their own Countries as to the level of their "happiness" where they live......

We all have different life experiences and cultures based on where we reside on the globe......and yes.... We seem to think its a bad day when the battery goes out on the remote......lol.....sad as it sounds.....

We do and we don't...... We have an overabundance of things here.... We are a "spoiled" population.....and that in many ways cause us to be, or be seen as arrogant and look down on Nations not as "fortunate" ........ There is a lot of good to be said for living a simplfied lifestyle...... Profits and money and the materialistic society we live in makes it seem we have it made.....but in so many other ways it complicates things to much..... Maybe that's a reason we are 13th on the World Happiness Index this year....

Capitalism and socialism are economic systems rather than a ideology..... In my view both have become corrupted by the forces of greed...... I think a lot of our problems comes from unbridled greed..... Personally, we have a good blend of both....not perfect....but better than just one or the other....but not enough balance to keep greed from corrupting the balance and thus the system we have...

The blend of socialism goes further than those three things you mentioned..... Much can be added to that list....and those things are very important components that have set us apart, in a good way, from other Countries...

Yes...that's true....but on the other side of that is it also just as true that the right is striving for complete power..... Complete power to serve the same "masters"..... The Oligarchs...... They don't really care which politicians you "choose"...... They have devised a "color coded" system to make it simple to pick one of their approved candidates..... The red one or the blue one....simple right?..... They also divised a system to "sort out" the ones they don't approve.....like Sanders as an example...or Ron Paul as another.....

The public school system has been "dumbing down" students for decades........The Union has nothing to do with that......

The ACA is a far cry from fixing the healthcare problem......but really its not a huge power grab..... The insurance companies are still in charge of most things.... It's Not Government healthcare.... Medicare is an example of Government paid healthcare....not government healthcare....but Government paid healthcare....and most people are very happy with their medicare.....

There must be federal oversight....we can argue to what extent....but to be a cohesive Union there has to be federal oversight....
As far as the states taking over the dividing social issues.....they will still be the issues....and it will still be "socialism" if resolutions at state levels use tax dollars .... It really makes one problem into fifty problems......

We will be at the mercy of the Coporate Oligarchs if we allow unregulated capitalism to take over..... We are marching down the road that leads to fascism....which it appears exactly what the right(not average Republican voters, but the politicians) in this country want....

Not really..... There is another way to see that.... I do agree that the other Republican candidates did what they could to stop Trump.....up to the point it would hurt themselves politically...... But the media being against Trump??..... Not quite... The media profited off Trump to the point of being shamless..... It was all Trump all the time.....they gave him unparalleled exposure..... He was free to say and do what he wanted with it.... Trump said some stupid things things to....but attention....negative or not is better than no attention.....like Sanders for example..... His party actually did stack things against him...in very real ways...He was also ignored as much by the media, as they possibly could get away with....and subtlety slanted their general coverage when unavoidable, to be as negative as possible without being overt...The media did that to Ron Paul to...... So no....the media was far from being Stacked against him...

In some ways yes..... They both tapped into the discontentment and frustrations of the American Public....

I don't think anyone wants more government regulations on average American citizens....but there is nothing wrong with using Government to the advancement of the American people..... It is supposed to "be for the people, by the people"......right?..... Seems it's by the Corporations, for the Corporations, more than the other way around these days..

A United Nations poll... Much higher alcoholism rate in Denmark than U.S. .. perhaps that is the key.Im so tired my friend we will talk about this later.
Also will get back on the media being for Hillary...come on brother...and the states deciding on their social issues and the education system..as always I enjoy your opinion and hope I have time to respond soon, if not Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I wish I knew how to dissect the posts.Every time I do my response is in blue with the part of the post I copied. Maybe you can help me.

Let's start with you telling me capitalism and socialism aren't ideologies...They absolutely are and I won't pull up a link but
Capitalism, communism, socialism, and Marxism are ideologies.
Disagree with your belief on health care, I'm talking about Obama care and it is a disaster and a power grab.

I'll get back to you on Denmark and Sweden, keep in mind not all news stories are the same and I'll be glad to show you some very disgruntled Scandinavians.

I just highlight the text I wish to reply to and there is a icon that appears that says "reply"...touch it and magically the highlighted text appears in the reply window... I know thats not Very "technical"...but hopefully it will be of some value.....

In a sense of the word....they are....however consider this....economic ideology is distinct from an economic system that is born from it... The theory of economic ideology can explain its occurrence, evolution, or relation to an economy.......but the actual functioning economy isn't theroy....it is an economic system...... When I say that our Economic system isn't an Ideology..... I'm saying it isn't a theroy.....or just an ideological belief....but an actual functioning economy responding to many different types of stimulus from varying circumstances.....
So yes you're correct in one sense of the word....but I think it can be taken as their being distinct from each other as well.....
That is my only point on that...

We agree that the ACA...aka "Obamacare" has not been the best....and many aspects to it need to be redone.....leaving in the actual good part....like the elimination of pre-existing conditions........ But a "power grab"?... I don't agree with that..... The Insurance companies still are in the drivers seat, so to speak....... For profit healthcare has its problems.....it is responsible for the level of care....and those who can have access....i.e...those with money.....
We have an economic system that is a partial blend between Capitalism and socialism....which is good..... Our infrastructure is socialised......for the benefit of everyone......Police and fire protection....socialised for our collective benefit...... Health care being socialised for the same benefit to all of us shouldn't be looked at any differently than any other type of socialised structure already in place....and taken for granted.... In any of the above mentioned things, the Government isn't actually doing the work....but private contractors are..... Government only pays the cost...or shall I say, we all share in the cost....same as it should be for healthcare...... In countries that have single payer.....they have no interest in replacing that with the system we have....... I know you are not going to agree.....but that's ok.... That is how I view the issue of health care.... When you think about.... Our health is the most important thing we have.....without good health all other things have a way of becoming irrelevant...... The heath of all if us should be a priority....even above profits...

Sounds good.... I'm sure you'll have thoughtful insights to share....... I know not all sources are the same.....and there are always going to be the disgruntled..... We think we have the the best Country....but there are millions of disgruntled Americans as well....... No place on earth is perfect.... Not yet anyway...

If you go to a poor black neighborhood and a poor white neighborhood the chances of being rob, beat up, car broken into and the rest is probably about even. Poor people do not have the background to succeed. Thats not a racial thing it's environmental and family.
When you look like, talk like dress like you come from the streets you might do well in the streets but not with potential employers

Beer is for the mass's to be made happy.
When the price of beer exceeds the prevailing wages watch out!
Thats another reason behind the legalization of pot.
The masters in control want us to be docile, watch reruns on tv and eat junk food

I know I do not want our next generation having grills like the blue collar European...I think their dental care is lacking.
