All lanes of Interstate 94 in Racine County have been reopened, but for hours Thursday, part of the freeway was the scene of a horrific inferno of a crash.

A pick-up truck, hauling a trailer with landscape equipment, was in the far right lane southbound lane of I-94 near Highway K.

A Milwaukee radio traffic reporter happened to be driving just few car lengths behind and saw the pickup truck swerve out of control.

"At the last minute, the truck, he must have tried to over-steer, and he went across all three lanes of traffic and he got struck by the semi," Bucky Albright said. "My first thought was, OK, where is he going, and where am I going to go to avoid it?"

The semi pinned the pickup against the median wall.

Officials said ruptured gas cans in the pickup likely sparked the fire, which raged for more than an hour. All that is left of the pickup is a burned-out frame. No one was killed, however.
