It was and still is disappointing to see those jobs go south of the Rio Grande and Trump did posture and grandstand over saving them. However, it was known all along that some of those jobs would still be moving south.
This one here is just a matter of economics, they're downsizing, not moving to a third world country. After Boeing moved there to escape the union workforce I wouldn't care if they closed that plant all together and moved those operations to WA.
Only 700 union jobs were saved.
Yep, but it's 700 more than the Bammer or Hitlery would have saved.
All Trump can do is create a positive business climate for the companies, which he has been doing, despite Dimms doing their best to destroy his America First agenda.
President Trump is too busy fighting the Russia hoax right now.
Though he has done more for the American worker in 5 months than Bammer did in 8 years.
President Trump said there'd be 1100 jobs at carrier, there's 1100 jobs at carrier.
Boeing is laying off from lack of orders. Why is this a Trump story?
I think he was there to boast them voting down the union.
What is that?
Reviving the coal industry, ending EO job killing regulations to create a pro business environment, ending bad trade deals that were starving the American worker....I could go on but I don't think it would matter.
Don't forget the Keystone XL Pipeline, which is already making money.
These people are blinded by the media lights. The bad part is they will be able to partake in some of the perks of a Trump presidency..
Ask a teamster pipeliner how much he makes. It will make a freight driver blush.
I know one and while we don't discuss dollar amounts he works looooooong days six or seven days a week. He came home for Christmas and took a last minute trip to the Bahamas, air fair $7000 for him and his wife, that told me all I need to know.
Your local handles pipeline work if it comes thru, right? Look at what they make, and then look at what trump has done for the oil pipelines. Why do you think the teamsters aren't out there chanting and dancing with the hippies when they protest an oil project, unlike other unions that openly whine about bs social justice issues.
No companies, no unions.....a pro business climate can be more union friendly than a Democrat business climate, pipeliners and oil rig workers are the perfect example. Those companies throw money and good pensions at those guys because they are too busy making money to split hairs over a few bucks an hour.
Realistically 3 choices for Prez in 2016:
1. Bernie- boasts he'd take millions of trucks off the road
2. Hillary- states she was for not only open boarders but an open hemisphere
...both are anti-coal, anti-oil, pro Paris-screw-America-Accord
Working middle class chose who they thought was best.
