When the hos changed we went to 8/70 at fxf. I know allot of guys are all about the money, But I dont want to work 70hrs a week. Watch what you wish for.:USA:

It would give the people who arent working 40 hours a week a way to make some money. I would have no problem working weekends and having 2 days off thru the week.

I agree if it would work like that but I doubt that it will. If you are on the road all they most likely will do is work you 5/14 and bottom guys will still sit at home. That just seems to be the trend.:17:

His boss, Dave MC**** at CTS is against it. He said he sees no added benefit, but more drivers milking the clock. That’s what he said when he was in charge of CCX when he visited several FAC’s and was asked that question.

Seems like just more hours that they could hold you at a fac.:censored2:

We have dsr’s at our place that are creaming their jeans over this. They are so far in the hole (debt wise) they’d love to be able to work five 14-hour days. Imagine how many more bass boats, harleys, high dollar trucks just to drive back and forth to work. They’d love it. We have guys that don’t use their personal days because they cannot afford it now. Heck I have seen guys getting sick into garbage cans on the dock and wouldn’t go home because they couldn’t afford to take off with only eight hours of sick pay. SAD

Break it down into elements of operating. What can we do seven days that we can't do in five? It wouldn't effect the city operation, and you can't offer shorter transit times only on freight shipped on Fridays. So where does that leave us? Saturday night reships? XCW is already working a full dock crew Saturday morning loading all the "U" freight and also the city pedal trailers. Has the software of the linehaul operation matured to be able to evaluate and deploy a second wave of reship on Saturday night when the end of the month rolls around?

This is Con-way's philosophy towards the customers:

Unless you do over $40,000 in outbound prepaid per month we do not care about you. We will charge you 30% more than every other ltl carrier to haul your freight even though our service is only 10% better. We will not honour any guarantees because out FOS's are trained specifically to screwing the customers over with incorrect statusing of freight. If the customer does put in for an on-time warranty, the online website will crash on them until the warranty is up and it sucks to be you the customer afterwards. All claims will be denied on the first try. Again, unless you ship over $40,000 per month we do not care. We provide no customer service for our class 4-6 terminals. Our only goal is to service the customer's freight - NOT THE CUSTOMER. Again, unless you do over $40,000 per month we just don't care. Our annual increase will be 5.5% -7.5 %each year where the drivers only get a 2.5 % increase. In 10 years, the price of moving ltl with Con-way will increase anywhere from 55-75% while inflation stays at 1% annually. We will rip you off on fuel and claim to have a well maintained fleet of trucks while they are the lowest grade - cheapest running fleet of all the trucking companies. We will not put any new parts into our trucks. We will not honour any claims if the freight gets damaged due to bad maintenance. Our sales force does not sell ltl anymore - we babysit the customers that we currently have because we do not want our A/E's to be embarassed after showing how expensive we are as a company. Our spot quote department does not care about your 5,000 lb pallet so please stay by the fax and move the freight at the price we tell you we can move it for. We appreciate you mailing the check the day after receiving the bill. Your credit will be cut regardless after 45 days of your bills being outstanding. If con-way gives you a rate quote and it happens to change, too bad - pay it! If con-way awards you an NMFC class for your freight and it happens to be changed too bad pay it - there will be no warning. If your nmfc class is changed in error too bad - nothing will be done to correct it so pay it. If con-way reweighs your freight at a higher weight than what currently billed you will pay that too. If that extra weights bumps you to a lower NMFC class too bad - you will pay that weight at the origional class. If your freight is not ready by 2pm then we will not honour the pick-up. Business is to stop at all docks when a con_way driver arrives - we expect that an empty dock with a wide driveway be at every p/d site in order to save p/d hours. We do not want your freight unless it is profile freight meaning 4x4x4 skids of class 50 freight going to next day - 2 day lanes. We do not want long-haul lanes. We would like you to comply with the rules with a smile. Thank you for doing business with Con-way. If you spend over $40,000 in freight per month we appreciate it.

southern region is not what its cracked up to be. we have 65 to 70 drivers and TM said he can not have more then 20% over 45 hours. its really hurting alot of us. going out with half filled trailers , bulk runs etc etc....
what it is this TM over hired and will not admit to it , now us top guys suffer. as matter a fact since we are slow / low tonnage , he has gotten approval to rebid city and dock. cut alot of start times, 75% of us will be unassigned. great times huh !
NTP rules yeah right..................

Hip Hip Horay!!!!! For conway!!

At least thats what you say when your a TM at a class 3 with 22% ICP. YOU ARE DISPENCIBLE!!! He can get all the drivers he wants at NTP

Agrees with Shadow .....Sad but true

as far as 7 days it might not be to bad if you got the freight to justified working 7 days at our terminal we don't so 7 days problay wont work as far as 70 hours logs it sucks after working 5 nights logging 60 hours + 1 hour of breaks per night total over 65 per week by time i get back on sat mooring I'm burned out if adding another 10 hours they will make us use all 70 hours my opinion thats way too much
