Dr. David Dao, 69, who was captured in a now viral video being forcibly dragged off the Louisville, Ky-bound flight at Chicago O’Hare Airport on Sunday, was working as a doctor specializing in pulmonary disease in Elizabethtown when he was convicted of trading prescription drugs for sex favors.

Dao and co-defendant Case, identified in the documents by the state medical board as “Patient A,” were both indicted in the case.

The medical board said Dao had a sexual relationship with Case and supplied him with narcotics while Case was his patient. The two would often meet at hotel rooms.

The two allegedly worked together to obtain prescription narcotics at several pharmacies over three years, according to reports.http://nypost.com/2017/04/11/doctor-dragged-off-flight-convicted-of-trading-drugs-for-sex/

It was reported today that this flight was not overbooked, its been said there were a few united employees who had to fly to Louisville so a few were chosen to leave their seats

I'm hearing triple digit figures this doctor could be awarded in court.

I'm sure he's in for a big payday I'm with Magoo's logic on that one, it's not my money who cares. United could ground everyone one of their planes I wouldn't notice.

I haven flown since 1980, but for a triple digits payday, I'll let em drag me from my seat!

He bought the ticket that says he must give it up if demanded. He refused, and was removed. Then he sneaked back on, and overzealous cops were called, and cameras rolled. They said jump, he needed to ask How High?

The airline spokesperson first said the airline was overbooked and now they are walking all of that back saying united airlines employees can snatch up your seat.
I'm not a lawyer but I would pull the one arm bandit on that trial all day long for the payout

When you have to bump four passengers, you're overbooked. He'll be paid off for the embarrassment, not for bumping. I don't think he deserves a dime, myself. He should have taken the 800 they offered, and walked off the plane when ordered.

Triple digits is under a thousand bucks

I think 6-7 figures is more appropriate

The doctors past is irrelevant here
he got his license back just over 2 years ago and was working
had patients to see Monday so getting back was important because if he did not see his patients, his license could have been pulled again for negligence.
Truth is United got cheap and now it cost them

United blew it, yes. Imo, so did the doc. If getting back was That important, soon as announced he was picked, he should have offered a bidding war to take his place being bumped. At $5,000, someone surely would've taken his place

Let's see......chitown to Louisville is what, 5-6 hours by car? Seems to me like United could have hired him or someone else a luxury limo if need be.....

Both the company and this doctor were too stubborn and idiotic to actually try and solve the actual problem.....

Pretty indicative of the state of the world we live in nowadays....
