MOUNT AIRY, N.C. -- Surry County EMS crews are responding to a wreck involving two tractor-trailers.

The wreck happened just before 6 a.m. Wednesday on I-77 South, near mile marker 102. It shut down all southbound lanes in that area. No word on when they will be reopened.

EMS and police are still on the scene. One person is being treated for injuries

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said the driver of one of the tractor-trailers fell asleep and collided with another big rig.

Article not specific about gender, so why assume driver is male?

When the fedex driver recovers and goes home, is he/she still employed/employable?
