A subsidiary of Overland Park-based YRC Worldwide said Wednesday it plans to hire 450 truck drivers for its facilities in the Midwest over the next few months.
Holland, headquartered in Holland, Mich., said the expansion was prompted by increased demand in its next-day delivery market.
In 2011, the company said it hired 750 drivers, and so far this year, it has hired nearly 300 drivers, and added more than 100 tractors and 450 trailers to expand its fleet.
Holland said the hiring will occur primarily in Evansville, Ind., South Bend, Ind., Chicago, Wheeling, Ill., Cleveland, Youngstown, Ohio, Louisville and Milwaukee.
